Tricia on Supernatural

First of all, before I talk about it. Let me apologize to Tricia for the very stupid men who interviewed her this morning in Milwaukee. Cramp? Adler? Totally not one of your better interviews.

That said, wow. This episode? Only worth it for Tricia.

Well. That wasn't predictable at all.

Really. (that was sarcasm) In fact, [livejournal.com profile] nique and I totally called it, and we missed the first ten minutes.

Though, I'm kind of sad that my idea wasn't true. Sigh. It would have been far more awesome if she'd been Greeley's wife and David was her lover.

Dean? Is he the asshole? Anyway. Really boring. And not the fun kind of asshole, either. Sam is... well, he's like the poor woman's Jerry O'Connell. Without the abs-rippling action. Sigh.

But Tricia as Molly was utterly fantastic. I occasionally saw bits of Six-on-Caprica (not to be confused with Caprica Six), and some of Gina, but mostly, it was all Molly. Awesome, man. Just frakkin' awesome. I really hope this helps her get more roles.

Except for the end, of course, when I yelled "Go into the light, Caprica!"

So. Doooon't think I'll be watching Supernatural again. 'Cause. No women. Besides, if I want Monster of the Week with Action and Demon Hunters? I'll go watch old Buffy. Or maybe X-Files...

Mmm. Scully with a big gun.

Heh... I watched all of five minutes of Supernatural tonight. Saw Tricia's hair color, went "eh" and changed the channel. But I bet she was good, only Supernatural doesn't interest me at all. It's the dude from Days of Our Lives and the other guy from Gilmore Girls. I kind of can't take them seriously.

Supernatural with Kara Thrace and Buffy Summers? That'd be all sorts of awesome.

[identity profile] greycoupon.livejournal.com 2007-03-16 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
Well, Jensen sure is pretty. And full of emo-pain here it seems. I remember him back when he was on Days Of Our Lives.

SCULLY? Where???

Yeah, I don't even know who the guys are. They just bore me. Sigh.

And it's not just 'cause they're guys. I love and adore Harry Dresden and Bob. I could watch them painting a wall and be entertained.

But then, Dresden Files does have Murphy, so I suppose there's a woman to get me interested. (although the werewolf chick from a few episodes back is more my type.)

It would be awesome. And have bar brawls, with Buffy half the time facepalming and going, "Why do I put up with you?"

Sorry. Had to jump in here. I sooo totally remember when he first appeared on Days. Hee!

Emopain gets boring.

Sadly, nowhere. I was trying to picture her with Kara's gun from the comic and being amused.

[identity profile] hollywoodgrrl.livejournal.com 2007-03-16 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
Um yeah. No women = hard to watch for me. It's a thing I have. Though the boys are pretty (Jensen is, the other one is kinda doofy) there needs to be that little spice of estrogen in the mix.

But Trish was gooorgeous. I totally saw the bits of Six on Caprica. She made that sad crying face that that Six makes. And Gina. She had the pretty Gina hair. I love her way too much. She made that show extra gorgeous. Poor little ghosty Molly. :)

[identity profile] pataka02.livejournal.com 2007-03-16 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
Hee! He was Sami's twin. You have to remember that. Or you had to have been brainwashed into watching the show by two older sisters every summer vacation. Same thing.

Though I don't remember how they wrote him off the show... I think he just went West. The way that so many do.

I have no idea which is which. I found both kinda ugly, but I'm also on a chick up-swing, and only Trucco is still close to my, ah, heart.

It's all right! Molly has now downloaded, and is all, "WTF." and telling Billy (who is the nice Cylon, obviously) about her crappy life on Earth and how it isn't FAIR that she's not really dead.

[identity profile] pataka02.livejournal.com 2007-03-16 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
Umm, now I'm imagining them meeting up with Faith. And Faith and Kara in a same room? Someone's getting punched. Or laid. Or both.

Poor Buffy.

I. just. Um. My brain's really not all here anymore.

That was a really, really bad episode. They're usually not quite that bad.

Tricia Helfer was extremely good, though. Way better than the material given to her deserved.

Tricia was just absolutely amazing in the episode. God, she needs more work. I'd watch her act in anything.

SPN was gonna have Jo, but apparently a large portion of the fandom didn't like her. Sight unseen. Because she was a potential love interest for Dean. (The asshole, yeah.)

OH, MY GOD, YOU'RE RIGHT.

How did I not remember that? Oh, wait, it was Days and I blocked most of that from my mind.

That was not a good episode at all, except for Tricia.

If you don't care for either of the only two series regulars, even the good episodes won't be worth watching.

Eh. I'll take your word for it.

Wow. I knew the SPN fandom was fucked up already, due to the incest. But this takes the cake. God. That's fucking pathetic.

Bingo.

Re: predictableness. Yes, and yet... Anybody familiar with the show (or horror in general) can guess from the teaser that she's a spirit. In the teaser, there's the accident, she wakes up and he's gone, which is the first clue. Then she runs out into the road in what has to be a deliberate echo of the evil ghost from the pilot. So I don't think it was ever meant to be a secret. I suspect the thinking went, if they fool you, fine, if they don't that's also fine, because that's not the point.

Anyway, I have a thinky post for tomorrow on the structural experiment in this episode, but I won't bore you with it now.

And yes, Tricia brought the awesome. It's always interesting to see her with her real hair (or closer to her real hair anyway), because she looks more ordinary, and yet still amazing.

Ha. Well yes. Trucco is true lurv.

It's all right! Molly has now downloaded, and is all, "WTF." and telling Billy (who is the nice Cylon, obviously) about her crappy life on Earth and how it isn't FAIR that she's not really dead.
LMAO! Seriously, though. Seriously. ;)

It's funny how whenever i talk to fans i say the episodes i have watched were boring/stupid/predictable and they go "THAT EPISODE? It was really stupid"

You know, I like the show, despite the amazing lack of femaleness, because it hits a lot of my X-Files buttons, and they do get some good female guest stars in. And yet. God, just give me a regular female character, please.

I got echoes of the usual fannish debates when I heard about the Jo thing. Generally, I watch the show, and tend to stay out of the fandom. The heavy volume of incest is a turnoff for me.

[identity profile] lyssie.livejournal.com 2007-03-16 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
HAHAHAH. That.... yeah. Not to be rude, but I honestly don't see that show as having good episodes (the werewolves in the preview for the next one look just awful)

[identity profile] rhi-silverflame.livejournal.com 2007-03-17 04:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh yay you don't watch it either. *clings to you*

I think I saw all of one episode and I was rolling my eyes so hard with "OMG I don't care" that I couldn't be bothered again. I get why it appeals to people -- it just doesn't appeal to me.

. . . er, okay, and I saw like five minutes of another episode recently, but that was only because Emma Lahana from Power Rangers Dino Thunder was in five minutes of it and . . . yes.

No. No I don't. And I definitely won't be starting. There are no women, for one thing (this must make it easy for the slashers, they don't even have to get rid of the scary icky vagina as it's not even THERE anymore. And, sure, they're brothers, but WHO CARES, 'cause it's hot, right?).

That's ok. I watched it for Tricia. ;)
