more random Anders meta, with some Kara/Anders from Resistance thrown in

Spoilers through The Son Also Puns.

First of all, I'd like to note that, well, Sam and Kara? Are totally having foreplay in Resistance. I made mp3s of their two scenes together--well, the one with the guns (love at first sight, baby), and the one with the pyramid. And I listened to them. For, like, 30 minutes before the end of work (I NEEDED IT, OK?)

SO.

Random Observations:
1. Sue-Shaun snickers at Kara's comment, knowing that Sam has just been knocked for six.
2. Sam goes for the jugular instead of pity in regards to Kara's leg. And if he'd pitied her, she would never have slept with him.
3. I really don't think Kara ever considered Lee when she frakked Sam.
4. That whole pre-pyramid conversation is total foreplay, with each mocking and prodding. The pyramid itself is full of groping and grunting, and ends with Sam giving her the "wanna go play somewhere else?" look.
5. Kara's knee--Lee would have expressed sadness. Sam just takes it, like he's taken every revelation she's laid on him. From her mother to her dead father to Leoben.
6. Sam's pissed about a Cylon in uniform screwing them over. Leoben?
7. My OTP are really really hot. Like, wanting to frak each other with their voices, hot.
8. Sam's voice does this thing when Kara contradicts him about the fouls or whatever. "The last one was called back on instant replay." is totally his Sex Voice.
9. Sue-Shaun? Also headdesking, 'cause she knows Sam's type, and Sam just got pwned by one of them. She's probably already considering running a betting pool to see how fast they frak.
10. "Either I'm gonna kill her, or I'm beginning to like her." should be in a fic about their early days.

---

BUT BUT. This actually was brought on--the Anders meta, not the hotness of my OTP--by a thought in regards to his "It wasn't supposed to be--" which he cut off, and tried to pretend he didn't say. Which, I'm pretty sure was Sam saying, "It wasn't supposed to be her." As in, Kara was immortal, to him, she wasn't allowed to die. And I think that may be why, subconsciously, he was buying into the Destiny Crap. Because if she has a Destiny, she can't die on him.

And, BAM. That's all ripped away, because it's blatantly untrue. Her Destiny was to die. And he's pissed but also ripped apart, because he kind of pushed her about it a little, instead of saying, "Gods, this is crap."

I also think he figured he'd be the one to die, first. That her luck--as he says, his girl is too lucky to check out. He's seen THAT time and again--would protect her. And it didn't, this time. This time, her luck went to Maui on vacation.

Sigh. Oh, Sam.

Resistance really is awesome for the OTP.
3. Nope. I don't think so either. If she had, it would've been just another one-night stand to her, like Baltar was, and clearly it wasn't.
6. That never occurred to me, but it could be. And it explains how he got caught too, since the idea of Leoben trying to pretend he's in the military with all his streams and little fishes talk is really quite funny.
7. Yes.

And the last part, oh yes. exactly. I supplied "wasn't supposed to be this way", but it amounts to the same thing. She went away so many times on him and always came back, that he couldn't take taht this time, she couldn't. Her luck, her destiny, whatever, had run out.

And if he heard her last transmission, can you imagine? Because he'd have to feel some guilt for not telling her that all that destiny stuff was crap, as you say. Although I like what they did with Lee and Sam, I'm still a little amazed that Sam's not angry about Lee letting her fly when she was so clearly not with it. I guess the reasoning is that he has the same reasons Lee did, that taking away her wings would hurt her more. But I am surprised he didn't lash out, justified or not. Or maybe he did and we didn't see it, since this was two weeks later.

Anyway, good thoughts. and as always. OH SAM!

3. But then, I suspect that Sam took her entire attention, whereas, Gaius, well.... didn't.
6. I think part of it is that there's anger in his tone as he says the fishes thing--and then the "Yeah, right, we've seen cylons in uniform before!" -- which, it could just be simple anger at the betrayal of trust--colonial fleet should be trustworthy, not cylons... I also wonder if the uniformed cylon was the one who got half his people killed on that bad run...

Well, I think Sam has either already blown his stack about Lee letting her fly--or, he thinks Lee wouldn't have let her fly if he'd known how far gone she was, and doesn't blame him for her death. (Lee appears to have come to terms with his own part in her death--well, I could be wrong. I didn't actually listen to Lee)

I'm still pissed we didn't get to see the "Mr. Anders, I'm afraid..." scene.

I.... I think it might have been Adama, if only because it was Starbuck, and she was pretty damned special to him (not that you could tell from this season). But it could just as easily have been Lee or Tigh.

Gods. Tigh would take a sadistic pleasure in it, I bet.

oh, and my random question for the day. Who do you think told Sam? Lee? Helo? Sharon? Papadama? Lee makes the most sense, I suppose, since he was there, and he was officially her CO. But I can see where Lee might find that awkward, not too mention a bit wrapped in his own grief to be able to deal with someone else's.
