walk away from youuuuu...

So, like, yeah. I have a type. It's increasingly obvious, reading old favorites in my regency pile (thank to [livejournal.com profile] c_mantix I took my much loved, and slightly battered, copy of Michelle Martin's The Butler Who Laughed with me to Saturn), that I have a love for snarky couples. The kind that make each other laugh, but mock. And love each other, and sometimes do very mean things to each other, but then mock each other and--you see?

A type.

Yes.

In other news, THIS is made of awesome: Helm's Deep, in sugary form (thanks to [livejournal.com profile] blinovitch for the linkage!)

I... should do some cleaning. I swear, elves come in and trash this place while I'm at work.

ETA: I tried to read a LKH book and it burned. I think I may have to actually get rid of them.
ETA2: I forgot these were autographed, too. Hrm. In 1997, LKH wasn't as bad as, well, now.

Awesome Helm's Deep.

I am very amused at how the comments on that post are made up of people either saying "LOL u r a dork!!! loser!!", or criticizing him because there weren't actually any elves or catapults at Helm's Deep. I feel if enough people show up and comment, the post may implode in a very ugly way.

I for one support them in their model making activites. MG! I 'm praying that those sweeties did not go to waist.(not that is the right spelling) and scoffed in the proper holiday spirit.

Chortle! way to spend the holidays!

LKH still isn't bad, if you realize she's writing erotica instead of mysteries.

I understand she pseudonymously writes fairy novels that are even less faintly veiled.

Nah. This one was of the early ones. I picked it up and was like "...pass. Never going to read this again."

Also. Her porn? Not particularly all that great.

Oh, LKH. I really liked her world. Then she stopped writing it, and moved the whole story to Mary Sue's bedchamber. I can read books 1-5, and 9, and that's it. Fortunately, they're not available in Australia, so I'm never tempted to just pick up a new one and see if she's writing any better these days.

She just needed a competent editor.

Although, honestly, I did try to re-read the early books and... Really not all that interested, anymore. Sigh.

Tastes change in eight years, apparently.
