meta: Sam and the dog tag
OMG. I should be leaving. But.
Sam giving Kara the dog tag.
In some ways, this is like the end of the The Farm. He sees that she needs to connect with something, she needs to ground with something. And he can't give her an arrow and a mission from the Gods. All he can give her is time. And her dog tag. Which, in a way, the dog tag is how he defines her--by her oaths, her promises, her duty.
She was angry after the farm.
She's angry now.
Last time, he gave her the arrow, and she gave him a promise.
This time, there's no promises (they've already said those).
This time, he's saying, "this is who you are. When you remember that, let me know."
In a way, he's saying, "Come back when you've got your story straight" coupled with "Call it in the air" (DAMN YOU FARSCAPE)
And, y'know, I'm ok with that. Because, as much fun as it is to have Lee go, "Omg! I know her better than you!" and Sam to reply, "She's my wife, fuck off, bitch." I'm OK with Sam not knowing everything about Kara/not getting all of her issues. Sure, he knows her, but he's only known her for how long?
He doesn't have to be Mr. I Know Everything You Think And Go Through or Mr. Sensitive. He's a GUY. (and so is Kara, which is what makes it so easy to mock them).
er. Anyway. *flees*
