ff'net and YOU....
HAH. My supposition that posting Kara/Anders to ff'net would pretty much garner no feedback? Yeah. Born out (Circe, you've read it all already).
Surprisingly, the Dualla/Lee fic got a review.
Someone wanted to know why Kara and Lee don't end up together in ShagAThonAGoGo. I politely told her Chief has better stamina (my immediate response of, "Because I fucking hate Kara/Lee" would have been rude).
Still, if you add up all of the reviews I've ever gotten... It's still at least a thousand less than Nancy of the fruity wine fic, or the half-thousand Mary Sue authors. Probably far less than most of the Kara/Lee authors on there, too. Certainly a hell of a lot less than the other Sam/Jack authors.
Hell, the people who demand feedback to finish stories get more feedback than me.
Luckily, I keep reminding myself: the goodness of a story is in direct proportion to the amount of feedback. The more feedback, the more crap.

Now I will have to go over to ff.net and look for your Kara/Anders story!

It also helps if you don't spell things correctly. *cute*

I have a backlog of bookmarked fic to read that is over 100 different links now. Why not add a few more! Whee! End of term canNOT come too soon!

Y'know I thought that by ot reading slash I would never have to be subjected to mpreg. Guess not.
And if I watched the new BSG, I would read and totally dig your Kara/Anders. fic.

......
OH DEAR GOD.
Please tell me she's not actually getting people telling her it's good?
Hee.

Her new fic has only got three so far, but they mostly consist of gushing. One person thinks it's a strange concept, but is willing to give it a chance.
I just hope my morbid curiosity will not insist I read it.

Distract said curiosity by writing fic. *nods*
BE NICE! MY FIRST COMMENT! (i suk ar summerys)
I have more to say...but I'm not going to continue unless you give me feedback on the first half of this comment.
Re: BE NICE! MY FIRST COMMENT! (i suk ar summerys)
I'm too busy making screencaps from Downloaded. Maybe later.
And the, ah, stereotype generally holds true. (although, in some cases, it's just that fandom is flonqin' odd, and so stuff that takes ten minutes and no characterization gets more feedback, but the stuff you spend time on and agaonize over is... ah, ignored.)
Re: BE NICE! MY FIRST COMMENT! (i suk ar summerys)
"Great fic, but it would be better if it had more Lee/Kara. M'kay?" But more with the typos and belligerence.

I think you mean inverse proportion.
I never posted at ff.net because the email account I've had since 1995 came with a few megs of webhosting (it keeps rising but still after ten years it's almost full) and I prefer to control my stories' presentation myself. I only read there when following links from LJs of people I respect (and sometimes not even then because the navigation there isn't always transparent to me). Found some fun ones that way, and avoided most of the achingly unproofread ones. Good to know you post all yours here too.

I started posting there, because, um, it seemed the thing to do? Also, in that way, more good fic would be there.
I got lax, however. Really lax. Sigh.
Heh. Yeah, I used to actually frequent mailing lists, but with communities and msg boards and lj, they kinda died. So most (all, at this point) of my fic gets posted here.

There does appear to be a distinct lack of incentives to post quality fic over there, just a push to post in bulk to leapfrog to the top of the queue. After putting up with that kind of attitude for so long discovering LJ has been a bit of a culture shock. Actual encouragement happens...

Unfortunately, my updates tend to be in bulk, since I tend to randomly
forgetfeel too lazy to upload to ff'net, and, ah, thus cause a massive influx of Kara/Anders fic to appear (or, last week, it was the backlog of Weir/Sheppard and Domino/Cable).no subject
... I think your fic is awesome. I'd go comment on all of it if I could remember my name right now, let alone how to post coherent feedback.

Awww. *snugs* Thank you. And don't be silly!
