SFF: WHERE IS MY KARA? Edition

Really. For once, I can't call the frakking show Kara. *pouts*

This is not going to be coherent, probably. Q is on my tv, mocking Riker and Worf.

ANYWAY.

I liked this episode. It was, sadly, another "Look! Moral Issues!" episode, but it wasn't awful. We got lots of crunchy happy stuff. Lee and his indomitable hatred of the cylons. Helo is a captain! and thinks genocide is wrong. Lee trusts Athena about as far as he can throw her. And Athena and Helo have an active and apparently happy sex life. WHY is the best sex happening between the cylon and the human?

That's it. Anders needs to be a cylon, and Kara's problems will be solved.

Er. Back to the episode.

Pilots' banter during the thing was amusing. Helo not being smart enough to realize he could go hug his wife, as humans can't get infected was, um, amusing.

...dude. Guinan rocks. WHY don't they listen to her?

The science was bad, man. My roommate hopes Athena's explanation was garbled Cottle.

OMG. That brings me to Cottle.

If I didn't get Kara, I still got Cottle. Snarky, mean, sciencey Cottle. Who is torn between being a doctor and obeying his orders and taking out his irritation on the helpless cylons.

Simon got to speak! Poor man.

Also, my marine sergeant girlfriend was there, being smart and almost getting to shoot cylon prisoners in the head with Apollo (maybe he's having an affair with her?)

Ten seconds of Kara being snarky in the cockpit was not really enough.

I'm in desperate need, people.

Oh. Baltar got tortured and Three destroyed his ear drum and made him bleed a lot while he told Six he loved her. Or something. I don't know, there was porn on my tv (several times. And all well-lit. wtf? Why can't we get Kara/Anders well-lit?)

Roslin and Adama.

Well, Ros is a hard-ass, go her. As someone who is for the genocide of the wraith, I suppose I should be all over the toaster-deaths. Except... it's such an under-handed, sneaky way. Sigh.

I expect that's why dad wouldn't press the investigation.

Also. They could have infected the cylons, then offered them the tretonin cure and turned them into a slave race.

*distracted* Damn, the borg are awesome. HEY TOASTERS. You could learn a thing or two!

I think that's it, though.

It's one of the advantages of having such a large, good ensemble cast of characters that you can spend a lot of time shooting an episode centering on Character K at the same time as you're shooting an episode with lots of screen time for Character A. The disadvantage, of course, is that there isn't a lot of Character K in Character A's story or vice versa. Remember the first coupla stories in season four of TNG? There was Picard going home to the vineyard one week and Data going home to Soong the next, and hardly the twain did meet.

Though, I noticed something. I didn't miss her in Black Market. And everyone but me hated Black Market. Apparently, hookers and Lee killing people is more interesting than Moral Dilemmas, torture and porn.

Q!!! Totally by accident, DH switched to G4 after BSG and it was awesome watching Q and the Borg pwn Picard. I missed Lockdown, but I got Q and the Borg and their giant cube of death!

The Baltar/Six thing was really very hot. That's all I got out of the ep, really. That and RDM Helo is a moron once again.
