I could be wrong (yes, yes, it's true), but I took Sam's "this is the end" as more of something to say to shock Kara into looking at what's happening. He didn't look like a man who's over it, to me. Or maybe he even thinks he is, but that's only the rational part of him and the irrational, in love part of his is just saying, "Yeah, Samuel, whatever helps you sleep at night."

They are so not over.
