Enquiring minds want to know...

Is it live or is memorex?

Is it 'ship or is it... something else.

A short time ago, I spotted new fic on [livejournal.com profile] miniotp. Now, granted, it's been a while, and the rules aren't completely stringent, so, yeah, you can get away with not posting mini!Sam/Jack.

Generally, though, Charlie O'Neil/Jack O'Neil is NOT a pairing you wanna go with.

Surprisingly, this is what the post first looked like: http://pics.livejournal.com/lyssie/pic/0000c7wg

I swear, that was the nicest thing I could have said. I really wanted to say "What the fuck is this shit doing here?" But I didn't, see? 'Cause, I'm nice like that.

Remember, kiddies, tabbed browsing is your friend.

Imagine my surprise when I opened my flist in a new window, and discovered my comment had been deleted. Horrors.

So I left another. This one, not so nice (and much less about the fic).

http://pics.livejournal.com/lyssie/pic/0000bytq

This one has also been deleted. I did, however, finally get a reply.

Apparently, it's not incest.

Great. It's still not mini!otp. Or well written.

[identity profile] saramund.livejournal.com 2006-07-06 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
was it deleted, or was it on sg1_rippleeffect (or whatever)? cause I left a comment, too.

I missed the whole MiniOTP thing, so didn't actually say anything about that, but yeah, good point...

It probably was/is.

OMG. Is it possible my BNF-ness and snark has made it run away from the internets? (please to not be taking that seriously, kthnx.)

[identity profile] saramund.livejournal.com 2006-07-06 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
I'll take it seriously if I want - and your BNF-ness can't stop me!

So there!

MWahahahaha. (Actually, the post is still on the comm, as I poked at it. And, wow. 'pairings' is a bad usage of the word, man)

You're a BNF? *blinking* Dude, seriously?

Only though, like, osmosis.

(actually, I don't think I am. I was just very bored last night and mooching BNF-ness off nostalgia)

[personal profile] havocthecat 2006-07-06 01:20 pm (UTC)(link)
That's still more BNFness than I'll ever have. :)

(Eh, so what? It works.)

This is also presupposing that this standing, in fact, is not all in my head. (My BNFness is pasted on yay?)

[identity profile] kali921.livejournal.com 2006-07-06 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
HAHAHAHA!

Wait, was it incest or no?

You GO, girl!

[identity profile] lyssie.livejournal.com 2006-07-06 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
Apparently, it's not incest. It's still labeled (by the community) as a 'pairing', though. Which is just really horrendous wording (omgwtf, man. If you're going to do a community where people make dibs on writing certain people, don't call them 'pairings'.)

[identity profile] kali921.livejournal.com 2006-07-06 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that's....whatevs.

You mean all this time I've been giving shit to a BIG NAME FAN and I did NOT KNOW?!?!

I STOLE IT FROM [livejournal.com profile] nostalgia_lj. IT R BY OSMOSIS. Or sommat. Possibly, I finked some off Alryssa an' Nique, too.

*checks* Nah. You were polite and nice.

[identity profile] lavidaessueno.livejournal.com 2006-07-06 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
yeah, I figured adding "dumbass" after "you don't need an apostrophe to form a plural" wasn't quite the thing. Although I did consider it.

[identity profile] lavidaessueno.livejournal.com 2006-07-06 01:49 pm (UTC)(link)
hee!

[identity profile] ebneter.livejournal.com 2006-07-06 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
You really should have, though.

Although all the ... composition ... errors made my eyes bleed.

[identity profile] lavidaessueno.livejournal.com 2006-07-06 01:49 pm (UTC)(link)
surprising number of errors for such a short piece, no?

[identity profile] redstarrobot.livejournal.com 2006-07-06 03:22 pm (UTC)(link)
You'd think so. I once beta'd a BSG piece for someone (she kept complaining folks were picking on her but not helping her make it better, so I did an honest-to-god thorough beta on it), and the critique was many, many times longer than the fic. I think just the mechanics section was longer than the fic, and then I hit the style section.

I never heard from her about that, either. Go figure. :)

I have no words really. Don't you feel (just a little) thankful that there are people like that out there? Cause, really, without them there would be so much less to mock. And I do so love it when you mock.

:)

Yes. They're the people who (pardon for being callous and mean) make me feel like I can write better. If that makes sense. (it's late, I think I'm allowed to be petty for ten minutes).

*bows* ;)

Isn't it fantastic? [livejournal.com profile] shinga made it, not that I know him/her at all, and said it was gankable, so I ganked (with credit, of course). I kept seeing it on Fandom Wank and related stuff and I *had* to have it.

Ew. Ew, ew, ew. WTF?

Seriously, my mini!fic is a lot about Janet/Daniel as well as Jack/Sam, but it's still got the 'ship the comm is about listed there.

And I am so glad I didn't look closer, but God, when I saw Charlie/Jack, I would have sworn that they'd meant Charlie Kawalsky.
ext_18106: (Default)

[identity profile] lyssie.livejournal.com 2006-07-06 01:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Very ew. Apparently, though, you can use 'pairing' to denote friendships. Yeah. New one on me, too.

As did I, and then I slogged through read it, and, I was like... "...wtf?"

Personally, I blame the sg1rippleffect comm, as they're the ones who have 'pairings' listed as dibs-material.

[identity profile] daisycm83.livejournal.com 2006-07-06 01:21 pm (UTC)(link)
WTF? Scary, scary person. You bitch at them, lyssie. I love that you do it so other, wimpier people like me don't have to.
