Tigh likes Starbuck. I have a whole essay in my head planned around explaining this, but, bottom line, he respects her in some odd way. And she returns it.

You know the best dysfunctional relationship on BSG? The Tighs. Oddly, fandom, which claims to love that sort of thing, doesn't actually write about them.

Also, Lee promised Racetrack a bar. Lee! Where's our bar, bitch?

You should do that essay, because really, I think you're absolutely right. I don't think he respected her before the Cylons attacked, but you could see a quiet respect growing during their interactions.

And can I just say that Tigh is one of the really well-layered characters on the show, and he doesn't get enough credit for that?

Hm. No idea why the fandom doesn't write about the Tighs. I don't write BSG fic, or I'd consider it. Mostly because it'd be interesting to write about events from Ellen's perspective.

Exactly. And, seriously, when he gets the msg about her coming back from Caprica in LYDB, he's practically bouncing that she's back. And his, "There'll be no living with her now." is sort of affectionately mocking.

He is. And I hated him, in the beginning. But repeated listening has changed my view. I just... He doesn't make me want to write fic, but he makes me glad he's there.

It would be... very off. And strange. Heheheh. The Sekrit Diaries of Ellen Tigh, Powerbroker?

The Tighs are fantastic. I despair when fandom tries to throw Ellen out an airlock. The show needs its marital comedy!

It does! And, and, they are cute sometimes, which is scary. Yet awesome.

The Tighs are wonderful. (And I've written several Ellen-centric pieces, which always at least mention Saul.) I think that fandom doesn't write them because they're older. If they were even 10 years younger, fandom would be writing about them and also shipping Bill/Saul.

The Tighs are real, I'm related to at least 3 couples on my mum's side and 2 and dad's, really bloody scary. Lee won't have to build a bar if he keeps on growing the way he is, Dee can serve off his prone body. Sorry!
