Black Market and Epiphanies ETA: Now contains spoilers through the season two finale, Lay Down Your Burdens 2
You know, everyone keeps saying Black Market was the worst episode of the season. And I gotta object. Epiphanies is. Normally, while rewatching, I've had all sorts of mental cogitations pop out. But with Epiphanies? Meh.
Also, you know what would make Black Market even better? Puppets.
It should have been recut, too. More freneticness. And a voiceover. Ok, ok, so I still say Black Market should have been the Scratch'n'Sniff of BSG (OMG YES IT SHOULD HAVE. Think about it. Lee, doing the voiceover, and green breasts, and DRUGS).
Er, anyway.
SIX is back in her red dress. Yay. And Gaius is being Decisive!Gaius. We've missed him since sometime around Final Cut.
And, actually, this is something I need to poke at, one of these days: a rant about BSG's inconsistencies and how it really ISN'T better than Star Trek in its ability to do on-going story arcs. Season one has less of this than 2, but 1 is shorter.
*pauses* ok.dude. Normally big muscles don't get me, but, DAMN, Lee in his tanktop while working out is pretty.
Shevon is also pretty. And cute. And cute with Lee, which is amusing in and of itself.
Lee! Dating a hooker is not smart!
I would also like to note that Lee's women tend to be the graceful, fragile slim type. With long blonde hair. Surprisingly, Kara is neither graceful nor fragile-y slim.
Mom trying to get Gaius to resign is amusing. 'Captain' Zarek. HAHAHAH.
eta: Oh, Lee, you're so Dark and Emo. It's cute.
Interesting. Life smacks them down, and Lee and Kara react in different ways. Lee gets angst and a hooker, Kara gets mature and drunk. Then the hooker leaves Lee, Kara stops drinking, and... Lee steals Billy's girlfriend. And then Kara gets her boyfriend back. Interesting.
ALSO. DAD COULD STILL BE A CYLON.

Dude, that would have been awesome. (I just saw Scratch'n'Sniff the other day. Now that was a totally silly, but so very awesome episode) But since this is BSG, you can't have a random episode that is just a fun romp. They are way too serious for something like that {rolls eyes}.

SERIOUSLY. It also occured to me while watching that scene that it would be a heavily iconed shot, with Lee and his tanktop. But, it's not.
