I was poking around (I'm bored, it's hot, and I'm bored) for Kara Thrace stuff and came across an interview she did in January, and one of the bits in it caught me by surprise:

My mom will read a (message board), and someone will admit they think that Starbuck's good looking, and they'll get totally browbeaten by everybody for the next, like, 10 messages. ... It's just weird to me.

And I'm, like, struck with disturbance. I mean, what? When did it become uncool to say Starbuck was attractive? Or is this something that's on the splooge-filled msg boards at SciFi and TwoP?

sigh.

eta: I suppose I can see why some people wouldn't find her attractive. She's not classically pretty and all that crap...

I think it's a trend that's been around since the miniseries. Of course, since I don't expose myself to such nonsense regularly, all of my knowledge here is based on one other interview with Katee Sackhoff from a couple years ago, where she mentioned reading that the general consensus online was that she was fat. So...as far as I know, it could just be all in her head.

I read a whole thread dedicated to Katee being not pretty at Trekbbs a few weeks back. Can't link to, because they are moving the server. But it's not limited to Skiffy.

A few people said that she's actually was pretty and it was just a personal taste. But, still there's lot of people who equal beauty to fashion model photoshoped pictures quality (yes, all the "pretty" pictures you see in mags of fashion model are retouched digitaly, they're not "pretty" enough in real life).

But, you know, it's like that guy on Skiffy that keep saying that Katee was fat in LDYB part 2, Katee took 20 pound in a week for the final, I'm sure of it. *moron*
