newskool Who review: Idiot's Lantern

I am shocked to discover that I don't hate Rose in this episode.

Until the end, with the whole "Go after your dad" thing which was pointless. Er, but that whole OMG OVERBEARING FATHER subplot was really obnoxiously bad, anyway.

Possibly, the secret is that she spent half the episode with no lines. Also, because in her investigating, she wasn't irritating.

Stupid, possibly. Irritating, not so much.

Unsurprisingly, there is no mention of Mickey.

It felt like a decent episode. Didn't hate it, didn't think it was crap. Very... similar in theme and villain to Unquiet Dead.

Rose, though, should never ever grin like that. I don't know why, but she's getting more unattractive the more of her I see. Which is sad, as I usually have a thing for blondes.

As for the Doctor's over-wrought "OMG Rose got etted! Now I mad!", well, it kind of makes sense. And he was rather upset beforehand. Now it's just worse.

I liked this episode a lot more than "Age of Steel", which was kind of the definition of boring.

I agree, most of the reason why this was good was because Rose was only in 5-10 minutes of it. :)

Also? One-Episode Companion Boy? Adorable. And far more useful than Rose.

I miss Mickey. *pouts*

I didn't like it.
Maybe it's because the accents grated, maybe it's because the acting was thissideof shoddy, maybe it's because I'm sick of having "OMG Rose IS IN PERIL" jammed down my throat...

...I dunno.
's just the first episode of this new series I didn't think "I wish that had been longer".

*sigh*
