You know what makes me not want to participate? When you say, "this started as the Kill Anders ficathon".... Yeah. I'm all about that. Really.

Seriously. I don't go around saying, "Let's start a kill the Stupid People in fandom" ficathon, do I? ok, maybe a little No, I don't. I certainly don't plan on starting a "Kill Lee Adama" ficathon (I have better things to do with my time), or a "Kill Kara" ficathon (though she would make a pretty corpse)).

new BSG ficathon. It's apparently now the 'kill any character' ficathon. But began life as the 'kill Anders ficathon'. As, well, in BSG fandom, Anders hate is as allowable as Jean hate is in X-Men fandom (and if you tell me people don't like her, I will go dig for that scans_daily thread which was 75% people going, "Thank god she's dead").

In fact, all the cool kids think Kara/Lee is the best, and Anders is horrible and pointless (and should die), and Dualla is evil, of course.

Back to the BSG ficathon: I agree that that was not a well-crafted announcement despite their joking suggestion that you could kill off Kara, too, hehehe. Yeah, sure. You know? It almost makes me want to write a story where Kara is the very last survivor and blows her own brains out. Now, that'd be some dead!

YES. It saddens me how many X-fans dislike Jean. (sadly, probably as many as dislike Scott. sigh)

And, well, I like Emma. But, y'know, Emma back when she was running Gen X with Sean and having Angst over the kids and generally being a manipulative bitch.

As long as she doesn't end up being immortal, after having watched all her friends die...

Ah, you see, my memories of Emma are coloured by the late seventies/early eighties comics I read when I was most heavily into the X-men. She was not an appealing creature, there!

I disliked most of the first season eps I saw, liked Empty Child and Doctor Dances. This season, I've actually not watched the first two and Xmas whatsit had too much of Rose's Family Angst again which I loathe.

However, School Reunion and GirlinnaFireplace are love.

Bah... I hate character bashing in all it's forms. (I was one of the lonely few that *liked* Riley in Buffy and was sad he left. I'm used to it.)
