SFF: er, scattered edition

SG1: Mmm.
Lantis: I think I saw this Dr. Who episode before...
BSG Kara: Mmmm. Can I have one, please?

SG-1. They killed the Prometheus! OMG. In an episode named 'Ethon'! augh! (you can blame [livejournal.com profile] karma_aster and my mythology book)

Wow. This episode hits the ground running and never really lets up.

SG-1 make stupid mistakes (Hey, Sam? If that's the early version of the plans, maybe they put in defence systems later), but then redeem themselves by not saving the day. SCORE.

Because, see, three years ago, they would have saved the day, and everything would have been hunky-dory.

Anyone remember that stupid episode with the people who couldn't be moved and the Ancient Alien race? That episode was supposed to end with one side DYING. But tptb said it wasn't fluffy enough.

I prefer my SG-1 with snark and dire consequances, and Sam looking geektechhot. Not to mention the women totally pwning the power structure. Yum.

Anspagh got shot, btw. And so did poor Winston. DUDE! You should'a stayed in New York!

Overall? Adored this episode. OMG. It's so fun to watch!

BUT they killed Pendergast! You bitches! Though, again, nice to see some follow-through on the Serious Situation. Also? 157 crew, 76 survived. YEAH. Now, that's what I'm talkin' about.

What? I like people dying!

Also, the Sam in my head is much more bloodthirsty. Why does she have to be so... wishywashy on the show? *sniffles*

-

Lantis

The one with the tower in it.

OMG. I don't have much to say, because, FUN episode, but brainless. AND IT ENDS WITH SPARKY ON THE BALCONY.

-

Oh, KARA.

Now she has someone to live for! *dies laughing*

Poor Kara. Dreaming of one guy, and then trying to sex another who doesn't want to go fast.

Still. omg. The Kara/Anders in this killed me dead, because it reminded me of how fucking HOT they were.

I called her knowing every pilot who'd died by name. I also called her realizing Anders might still be alive. AND OMG she promised him, and Kara doesn't break her promises (hey, Kara, next time knock the raider over, kill its brain and fly back to Caprica).

Kat? Needs a good smack, although Kara totally pwned her.

*bounces in glee*

Kara looked hot. A lot. And Helo! OMG. I love their friendship, and how he totally thinks she's going soft on Anders (and, obviously, he has first-hand knowledge of her being dippy over him. *cackles*) And she beat him up at the end. SO CUTE OMG.

I also liked the bit with her and Sharon, because, well, it's so hard to tell what will hurt more: memories or lies. And that scene was so well done. GOD. *flails* "The kid frakking the Chief and thinking she was getting away with it." OMG. Kara.

The drinking all night, watching Scar? Kinda hot.

Kara deciding to frak Lee? Amusing. ALTHOUGH AGAIN she totally screws over the guy she's with. Not that they got that far, sadly. (OMG. Calling him "Samuel" would've killed me dead).

However. RON MOORE. Please STOP WITH THE FUCKING 98 hours ago shit! It's not useful, it makes you look like a shitty story-teller!

Not that, er, I have much faith in him anyway.

Kara, though. Kara, I have faith in.

Now I need to go write Tigh/Adama post-celebration....

ETA: oh. one other thing. I love how they went the full distance and showed that being a drunk isn't always fun. Much like the episode of Touching Evil that was on last night, there was a lot of uncomfortable, awkward humanity in that fall onto the table.

DUDE! I thought that guy sounded familiar! It was driving me nuts the entire show!

I would have thought that Ernie Hudson would earn "Special Guest" cred, though.

yes, yes, yes, and yes. [no to the Ron snark, but yes]. loved that SG-1's attempt to save the day failed. LOVED the fun that was SGA, and the only thing that diminished my BSG full and total adoration was Kat. she was waaaay too obnoxious for what we've seen of her.

and wait...Touching Evil was on somewhere last night????????????????? ZOMG, WHERE??????

Yes! BBC America is showing it on Thursday nights.

Them's fightin' words, y'know. Luckily, today is "don't fight with anyone but yourself" day. And tomorrow, I won't remember.

Robson Greene is superb. truly. and no one does angsty, fucked up, moody cops like the Brits, gods love them. but there's something more visceral about the American version, and i don't know that it's in the slightly altered storytelling but more the portrayals by Jeremy Donovan and Vera Farmiga. i think that Donovan's Creegan is infinitely more broken than Greene's, and that hits a bulletproof kink for me....hence the "almost". it'd be a tough call on any given sunday.

Donovan's Creegan has it easy. He actually HAS brain-damage. Greene's was more fucked in the head before he got shot.

And cardboard cut-out girl is pathetic.

we're gonna have to agree to disagree then. i love them both and Farmiga was awesome.

cheers.

YES! Someone else who things K/Anders is HOT!! .. But I'm a little disturbed that you thought drinking all night watching Scar was hot because she looked real shitty in that shot. Maybe the idea is hot? And the frakking Lee part - after the initial shock, squee, and awe over L/K getting it on - it was frakking hysterical. They were falling all over the place, hitting things and not getting their clothes off properly - talk about badly executed sex. I wonder if they actually drew up that sequence with a storyboard - cause that would be hilarious...

SG1
This episode hits the ground running and never really lets up.
Totally agree with you there and there hasn't been a lot of good episodes lately - at least the last two have been consistant. I can't believe they killed Pendergast AND Prometheus either!! I thought for a sec that poor Sam bite the dust there. It was refreshing they didn't do the SG1 save the universe ending - poor Mitchell though, finding out after just telling Pendergast's family that his death meant something - in the end, all it meant was they saved their own asses and got out of a situation they shouldn't be in in the first place. What happened to Kane BTW?

SGA: Yay for Sparky but Blah for the weekly fluzzy...

This "88 hours ago" stuff is really annoying. WHAT'S THE POINT, because then when we got to "present time" they just REPEATED what they showed at the START. *headdesk*

"HI! Here's a really out of context scene!" "Now let's go back and fill in the ga - oh, wait! Let's go here! And here!" ....whatever.

Kara and Helo are so adorable! It cracked me up.

SG-1: It'd be nice if we got to see some of the consequences, aside from knowing that a lot of people died. Sg-1 get people killed all the time, and no one ever seems to really care. Many different teams have died on missions with them, and as long as the four of them make it out okay, it's all good. I mean, think about it: Daniel just basically got dozens of people killed and one of (as far as I know) Earth's TWO whole ships destroyed for nothing... How much do you wanna bet nobody even yells at him a little for it?

Didn't see Atlantis. Wanted to, but forgot to turn it on. (I was watching season 4 SG-1 from my new box set. ^_^)

BSG - Well, it was definitely better then last week, I'll give it that. (Of course, last week wasn't very good, so I'm not sure how much of a compliment that is...) The flashbacks/forwards/sideways can stop now, though. Please. Now that I got to see plenty of Kat... I'm actually starting to kind of like her. (And it's about time Starbuck had someone under her command to deal with that acts like her.) Am I the only one, though, who thought that Starbuck looked almost like she was going to kiss Kat in their briefing room confrontation? I was half-expecting Kat to be all "Hit me, kiss me, just do something already!" *lol* The Kara/Sharon scene was very touching, btw. ^_^
