Whining.
Yes. It is all about ME.
I hurt. Like, every muscle.
Yesterday, whilst carrying the mini-fridge out to the car, I was walking across the parking garage and over-balanced (it was that or drop the damned thing, damaging it, breaking the alcochol in it, and probably damaging the car I was walking by.... The booze would've all slid down to the lower level) in an attempt not to drop it, and bent backwards, and...
Fell. My legs collapsed, actually. Never had that happen before.
I was luckily wearing my backpack, so I was saved from actually damaging my back/shoulders/head.
The fridge isn't heavy, but it IS slippery and plastic, and gripping it is like trying to hang onto a bowling-ball with grease in the finger holes.
Anyway. My right foot bent backwards right above the toe-line. I now have a line across my foot of stiffness and low-level pain, and a dime-sized bruise right above the knuckle of my big toe. It's not really swollen, but I've been icing it all. Ow. Cold.
My knees are both unhappy. The muscle directly above hurts with every movement, including standing up or going down stairs.
My right ankle is a bit fussy.
My hips have bruises and are sore. My lower back feels like someone stretched it out, then folded it.
Surprisingly, my shoulders and upper back are fine, as is my neck. My arms, however, are sore from muscle strain in several places.
I scraped the hell out of my right knee (and, er, this is how I know my foot bent, because I landed on my BACK but my knee was scraped, and I don't think I want to know at what angle my leg was at for a bit there. Really). I haven't skinned a knee in YEARS.
I have a sinus headache, and I appear to be getting a cold.
My tooth still hurts, and the lower one, the one I chipped the side off of last year, has joined in out of sympathy, I suppose.
Luckily, there is aspirin.

And here comes the nurse with advice...
There are a lot of bones in the foot, and you may have broken one of them. I, being a klutz, break my little toes on a semi regular basis. There really isn't a lot to do for broken bones in the foot, aside from the above.
I feel for you. I know it probably hurts like hell.

and probably numbing alcohol. Also, try stretching your quads (muscles above the knee) by standing on one leg, grabbing your ankle and pulling upwards. If you do this lots, you might not be so stiff in the next couple of days. And arnica cream is great for bruises, if you have any.*cuddles delicately*

I would write you sympathy smut, but I've got a feeling it'd come out worse than my recent "ZOMGUNDERPANTSHEAD SG1 Drabble". So... yeah. Not gonna happen. Unless you ask. :-D

Ice is good, and that's probably what's keeping your foot from being swollen. Try ice on your back too, if you can. *hugs*

Did the alcohol survive? What were you doing carrying a loaded fridge?

(it was a mini-fridge, and, er, because I thought it was a waste of money to pay the bellhops to cart it around on a cart thingie)
