well, that's a pisser.
fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck.
In other news, anyone looking to move to Milwaukee?
eta: I'm serious, here.
The only way out of our lease is to stay in it, unless we want to be charged for every single month left plus more (like, y'know, LAWYER FEES).
I am so angry right now, I'm not sure I'm even coherent.

It's impossible to feel secure when you can't find a job. Even worse when you're down to the lint in your pocket. I wish I could tell you, "Move to Madison!" and be sure you'd find a job instantly, but I don't think it's much better here.
There ought to be a way out of leases like that. It's not like you want to move for the hell of it. It sucks.

Now this is just general landlord/tenant law but assignment of property rights is generally uniform across the board.

Aside from assigning, there's a really weird suggestion I'm going to throw out at you - go back to school. There are all manner of aid programs for unemployed students, as well as housing that is actually extremely nice. Judy, a woman I went to undergrad with, ended up paying about $80/mo for a two story townhouse normally around $900, and the state paid for the rest, in conjunction with her landlord.
