Dear authors

It does no good to tell us there are spoilers in your story when you then proceed to put the spoilers in your pairing information or summary.

I swear. People get stupider the longer I'm alive.

There has to be a correlation.

In other news, it is fucking hot here. *dies of heat exhaustion*

AAAAAH!!! I'm so guilty of this. Just now.

erm, I didn't see any spoilers, but then, I'm really not expecting much from Serenity.

But, no, I wasn't ranting at you, sweetie.

don't even get me started on that one.

Sometime early last season someone posted a story to S/J that gave no spoiler warnings whatsoever. Then in the header, it said Season: after the proposal in "Affinity"

I had remained utterly unspoiled until that moment, and I was PISSED.

I think people do not understand how to do "After the events in *insert episode hame here*" in their summaries. The unspoiled will avoid, those who've seen it will likely know what you're on about.

It's not that hard.

yerg.

I still say the best was the ff'net summary: "contains spoilers for Threads! 'the massive spoiler regarding Jacob, 'cause he's thinking about stuff'."

Oy.

another good one was the author who posted all appropriate warnings in the header and put a spoiler space between the header and the fic ...

but in her intro that preceded the headers, gave a huge spoiler. Which she then said wasn't a spoiler because "it's just speculation about an upcoming show that I've heard people talking about on the list."

Oh, right. See, 'cause I thought a spoiler was speculation about an upcoming show that people talked about on this list. Good to know I wasn't mistaken, Sh*tForBrains.

People are getting stupider the longer I'm alive, too.

Especially people I knew in school.

I think the spoiler stupidity is perpetuated by the "OMG you didn't warn me!" stupidity, and the authors are just not thinking.

Weatherbug says is 78 degrees with 30% humidity here. It feels much warmer to me though, so I'd add 10 to both.

Spoilers are everywhere!!!!

This makes me want to write a short fic, make up spoilers and post them in a subject line. Eg, "SPOILERS for S9: Bra'tac is crippled on a secret mission to find the secret hiding place of the surviving Goa'uld." Admittedly, I don't think most people would actually care - Bra'tac should have more loving too. *sads*
