will wonders never cease

wow. Who forgot to notify me that hell had frozen over? I actually just got feedback on something posted to OutsideTheLines....

In other news, called Manpower. No luck on either job.

Yeah. Nice of him to call ME. And here I was thinking, y'know, he was a decent guy who actually did his fucking job.

Apparently not.

Fucker.

Best thing I can rec is keep calling. And calling. And calling.

Sooner or later they'll place you, just so's they don't have to deal with you for a bit. *g*

Yes, but what might be needed is a daily phone call. So that your name springs to mind when a job comes up.

[livejournal.com profile] nexstarman has said to me that that's what got him noticed by his first temp agency-- calling first thing every morning and asking if they had anything for him.

My temp agency doesn't work that way, because they only have one person answering the phones. They send emails to candidates based on our qualifications and the requirements of the job. But it's a small agency, and with the bigger ones like Kelly and Manpower and Pinstripe, the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Plus, no one wants to call and give bad news.
I agree with your friends, call them up daily...eventually they'll break down and give you something.
