Buffy....
So. I have... Thoughts. But. Since many either don't care, or don't want spoilers, or just don't plain care....
And, I've also got a partial list of the cuts made to the musical.
So. The cuts. These are just from what I've been able to remember, since the transcript can't be found right now.
Overture - the montage of day after day after day.
The episode starts with Buffy in the graveyard--she starts singing.
Buffy sings, cut STRAIGHT into the magic shop, no shop bell. (The bell is on the mp3, though.)
Anya sings, "It must be bunnies!" and we cut to Xander saying, "See, now that was disturbing." (The ENTIRE 'Nothing We Can't Face' song has been cut. Bastards)
Spike's song: Second verse is missing four lines, from, "You know you've got a willing slave." (Chorus, then it goes straight to, "I know I should go...."
Dawn is kidnapped, and we go straight to Sweet's Song, rather than to the dancing bad guys and Dawn. Ohwell. Hate Dawn anyway. Sweet is cool, though.
Sweet scene: After he says to go get the Slayer, it cuts straight out, instead of him singing the last bit, "Now we're partying/that's what it's all about."
Walk Through the Fire: Buffy's verse/bridge "So one by one they turn from me..." is gone. Sad. Very sad.
Something possibly, right before the 'Life' song.
Dawn's line at the end of 'Life': "The hardest thing in this world is to live in it."
Xander's question to Sweet is gone. iirc, it's something along the lines of, "So, do I have to be your queen now?" Instead, we cut at least three lines, and go from Xander admitting guilt to Sweet singing his way back to Hell (although we get Willow telling him to leave. But not the 'Oh, little girl has power' line).

Now. Tabula Rasa.
First impression: Fucking hilarious. Giles as Spike's dad is something I may never get from my head. Neither will I remove the line about how vamps with souls are boring. Heeheehee. Joan: the Vampire Slayer...
Second impression: Proud. Of Tara. She stuck to her guns, and left. And it's going to be HARD for her. But she did it.
Third: Can we shoot Michelle Branch? I mean, really. The last five minutes were ruined, thanks to her song and the lack of anything ground-breaking in those scenes.
Again. I found most of the episode utterly hilarious. I spent most of it snickering and outright hooting once or twice... Love Spike's suit.
I am... Unsure as to what I think about Spike and Buffy, at the end.
She once told him there would NEVER be a chance for him. "Not even if I was dead." I think she said.
*headshake* I don't think that's changed. Something's going to happen, I hope.
For all that I think they're cute... In canon, they just don't belong. Sorry.
It's not like the Jean-Claude vs. Richard dichotomy. J-C wins, 'cause he can take care of himself.
Spike.... Spike is a lot less evil. But more of a risk, since this world is nowhere near as dangerous as Anita's.
I've lost at least 3/4s of you, I'm sure. Ohwell.
I want Oz back.

no subject
I wonder if Spike is going to snap, and do something Really Evil because Buffy is heartlessly toying with him. Then again, he might like that. You never know with Spike.
How very true.
Hrm. More later.
