one quick rant

In Galactica fic, I keep seeing something (and I can't remember where) that bothers me: female officers being called "ma'am". They're not. They should be called "Sir" just like the men are.

Similarly, Roslin should be called "sir" (it's a mark of respect).

Bah. It's just... jarring. Because I like the idea of 'sir'.

Hrmph.

*grins* You just like the idea of grinding your manbitch beneath your heel and forcing him to call you 'sir'. :-P

*dies laughing*

(actually, it's a canonical thing. The women and men are BOTH 'sir')

I know. But I thought it was amusing to say what I did.

I'll note you didn't deny it. :-)

Well, no. Why deny something that's probably generally true? ;)

That drives me up a wall! As well as people calling Elosha a Priestess. *grrs at people*

Grah. I'll have to remember that and make sure I don't do it.

Hrm.

GAH. See, I would have insisted on Janeway being 'sir'. Damn.

See, fandom has completely confused me about that. I have to keep reminding myself that protocol says it's "Sir".

Some people suck.
