A letter to SciFi Weekly
Which may or may not be sent... Cut for possible BG and SG-1 spoilers.
Dear Editor,
I wanted to thank you for the last two hours of amusement as I read your letters page. Clearly, the fandom of SciFi produces the best wank ever. It was my privilege to read the quality stupidity from out-spoken fans around the world.
To the women upset at BG's use of 'sir' for both men and women: there is no distinction between sexes. What, should they have called them 'Sa'am' or 'Mir'? Perhaps 'idiot' would work better. And to those who claim that they are 'perpetuating the gender struggle'... Did you not watch the show? Are you completely blind, or did the fact that half the fighter pilots are women (in combat, no less) escape you?
To the anti-smoking lobby: You're right. Images in the media do affect how we perceive things in the real world. In fact, anytime Starbuck has a cigar, I just wanna yank it out of her mouth and--kiss her. But that could be just me.
Actually, what I really want to know is: why are you people watching something if you dislike it so much? Did you hate Farscape, but suffer through it? SG-1? Doctor Who? Blake's 7?
As for the poor deluded SG-1 fan who is now no longer a fan: get over yourself. And maybe buy a clue somewhere and re-watch Moebius.
In closing, I'd like to thank you again for choosing the best letters to represent the true moronity of the SciFi fan.
