He thinks in numbers and archaic symbols. There's a progression to them, a stasis that keeps him nailed to the decking even when he's dancing madly around, blood-alcohol-level high enough to get him pulled over and thrown in jail in all fifty states.

There are times when he can almost feel he has all of the right angles, and then they slide away, and he has only black ink (blood is too thick, he learned that fast).

John thinks Aeryn could have stayed, could have made this logical progression less logical.

But then, he never is very sane these days.
