somethin' that's been bugging me...

Colonial Day, Kobol 1/2 BSG spoilers beyond.

Aside from the fact that they went back and ADDED the scene where Lee insults Kara's hygiene...

This whole "omg, she wore a dress for him and thus, this means she is going to date him/be his/admitted her attraction to him" thing?

Is utter bullshit.

I mean, c'mon, people. This is like the Sam/Jack shippers saying Jack cheated on Sam because he slept with Laira.

There is no commitment there. They are friends first, and maybe love each other, and are attracted to each other. But other than that? Until Kara walks up to him and says, "Let's go frak"? There is no basis for the "she cheated on him!" crap.

*eyeroll*

Ooh. *distracted*

...yes. Yes I am.

So, who has been saying that?

...you expect me to remember? No one's said it recently, if that helps.

I don't think it was anyone I know (or anyone they know). O.o

Have people been saying she actually cheated on him? Because I've seen comments that Lee gets pissed off because he feels like she cheated on him by going off and sleeping with someone else immediately after their moment (which is unreasonable, but makes sense for the character), but not that she cheated on him, full stop.

As far as I remember, yes.

I've also seen the other, which kinda disturbs me a bit, too. But yes, it's understandable in Lee.

Oh, definitely. Although I wouldn't class it as thinking that she's actually cheating on him, so much as just straight-up jealousy. Not that I think he wants to admit to either.

I just love that he claimed to be upset just because he thought it was stupid of her to be casually frakking the Vice-President. Sure, Lee, we're buying it...

Hear, hear!!

She wore a dress for HER. And maybe a little bit to make his head spin 'cause he so very deserved it. (Okay, that's mostly because of the "hygiene" snark, which I didn't know had been added, but it doesn't matter because I'm a firm believer in the principle that canon = what we see on screen, however it got there.)

What IS it with people getting all huffy about characters "cheating" on other characters with whom THEY ARE NOT IN RELATIONSHIPS???? Oy.

Yes. Erm. Now I want to finish the sillyfic wherein Adama orders all the Galactica women to wear dresses on the President's behalf. hrm.

And, yeah. The cheating thing is... disturbing.

Oh, dear. And presumably Laura is trying to think of a tactful way to say "Why do you think I care?" Kinda like the bit with both of them thinking the other wanted the pomp & circumstance for her visit. *g*

*laughs* It actually made sense to me, though. She needed Fleet officers, and she needed them to Fit the Part, so to speak. The guys could get away with dress greys, but the women... (and if you look, ALL of the Fleet women there are in dresses and gowns)

Yep. They all obviously have them. Yet all of the women were out of uniform.

*nods* That's why I was going with the theory that Roslin requested it. Something about making them less noticeable, so the civillians didn't feel over-run. *shrug* But I never wrote it, so....

At least they'd have a bit of a leg to stand on with that one. Since it hasn't taken her seven seasons to actually get some... ;->

Dude, I shall repeat myself. We have seen as much nudity of Kara in one season as we have seen from Sam in 8. And I'm pretty much in favour of Kara having no problems sleeping around.
