Speaking of X-Force (not that I really was), I just read the annual from 1993. It's... Not bad? It's not completely fabulous, but you can tell there was destined to be greatness coming from Fabian Nicieza. His wit shifts and mingles with what HAS to be some leftover Liefeld plot/idea. Although Fabian is *quite* idealistic towards the end. I winced.

And Cable! OMFG! Cable said, "I AM the product of a bad decision on someone's part." Nate! Inferiority complex much? Daddy not hug you enough as a child?

Oh, wait. That's right. Daddy sent you to the future to cure you of a techno-organic virus implanted in you by Apocalypse, and you were raised by Daddy and his second wife pretending not to be themselves until they abandoned you at about, what, 14? And *then* you got hooked up with that Askani Sisterhood and they brain-washed you into believing a whole Chosen One routine.

And now, of course, you've come back and stopped Apocalypse (and got Daddy fucked over in the process) from ever happening, and thus, have NO LIFE. And surrogate Mommy is dead, and your little Sis thinks you're a punk. Even though you used to have a Psi-bond to her.

Seriously. There was one comment in the Annual, which reads as a very bantery joke if you know either of the characters at all and then a year later (issue wise) or something, Emma apparently makes some off-hand comment.

Because we all know Emma speaks the gospel truth. Right.

They're gonna have to give me a whole lot more than two lines of dialogue written by a spastic coke-head before I believe it.

Do you realize how many character names substitutions you could do with this sentence? Also, yeah, Domino did sex with Logan, but only in the same way Selina does sex with Bruce. You know, lots of evidence but not on panel so anyone offended by the idea can ignore it.

I really don't buy it. The annual was very joking (I didn't even *blink* at the suggestion when I read it the first time) and I haven't read the second, but as it was apparently *Emma* who said it... well, yeah. I'll believe it when I see it, you know?

What *really* drives me nuts, though, is all the people who bought it hook line and sinker without knowing a god-damned thing about Dom (not that Morrison did, either...)

I couldn't decide whether I believe it or not. On one hand, funny. On the other hand, I live with what's probably the biggest Cable fan in existance, which means I've absorbed a lot of related continuity stuff. I like Domino (enough to buy her cracktastic mini-series which came out decades late) and, as far as I know, she goes for the spiritually-driven heroic types, not the macho, overloaded with T and hair types. In fact, she seems like the type to hold out rather than put out.

Well, yeah. It reads much better as a joke, much more in character, which is why I've decided to take it that way (and, hell. I don't read X-Men, so I don't have to pay any attention to what Emma may or may not have said).

Heh. I figure it can be put in the same category as Rogue/Gambit and the cave grotto. I mean, either those were some really long chains or they're actually exhibitionists. BTW, I just made the connection between timesprite and nique. Is funny, I always thought those were two different ficcers.
