In other news, the wank in SG fandom is strong (I swear, every time I read a post on the new casting 'spoilers' -- and, dude, wtf? CASTING IS A SPOILER??? Oh, guess we'd better not tell you the show's NAME, either... *eyeroll* -- I hear Obi-Wan in the back of my head saying, "The wank is strong with this fandom. Its ship has it, its other ship has it, and even the baby 'ships gain some of it...")

Which is sad, because I thought Doctor Who was the wankiest fandom of them all...

At work, I've had to resort to pairings for my password (callyavon isn't a recognized dictionary word, for instance). And have realized that, within the year? I shall have to either resort to lesser known pairings (if I haven't already), but also almagamated names.

Yes. This time next year, my password could be 'spuffy'.

Exactly why should some of us be optimistic when RDA isn't likely to return, Claudia Black is being brought back for FIVE episodes and hinted at being a replacement for Amanda Tapping (if only temporarily), Ben Browder is coming on board full-time instead of Corin Nemec, and the show is looking like it's going to become Farscape SG-1?

Not all of us are Farscape fans, sorry.

Personally, I'll wait to bitch until I see something that actually sucks. (Like, oh, say, Gemini.) Reading some posts from the SG fandom lately is like sitting around at a goth club - "oh, god, this club sucks, this club sucks, the DJ is awful and my drink is watered down and I'm so damn miserable..." And my response is the same as it is when I'm out at a club: "If you think it sucks, then why are you here?" It just feels like everyone desperately WANTS to have something to complain about.

If Jonas came back, half of SG fandom would be bitching even LOUDER than they are now, considering how many "ogod they're showing S6 which shouldn't even EXIST and JONAS KILLED DANIEL OMG !!1eleventyone!!" things I see even now. If Amanda Tapping takes a few eps off to be with her kid and there's NO female replacement for her, people would bitch because "they're such chauvinists...it's all GUYS on the show."

*shrug* Whatever. People bitch when things change and they bitch when they DON'T change. I'm not trying to prevent you from complaining; I'm just not terribly interested in reading the predictions of doom 'n gloom.

But you won't wait around to be optimistic? I think that people can be optimistic or pessimistic - it's based on the same information. And really, the only ones who are extremely happy are Farscape fans; that's fine, except that Stargate isn't Farscape (thank God either way, or boo hoo, or that's true, or who cares, or whatever).

Meh, there's always wank. And I might've contributed towards it, in Qwirki's journal, but you know what? Even though I say I don't know whether to laugh with glee (work for Ben!) or cry many tears (it's not Farscape!), it's just a TV show. Should a friend stop by or something fall on my toe, know what? Tis forgotten.

But when nothing else is occupying my attention, this does. :)

And I try not to read the wank if it starts to bug. Easier said than done, I know.
