So. Am irritated by something someone said on a list I'm on. (not irritated enough to actually email them. Just to mutter). They made a statement to the effect that they thought their fic wouldn't get a lot of reviews because it was too science, and not angsty or smutty.

In other news, SG-1 ficfandom has reached the plateau that comicbookficfandom did around 99-00. No one is sending feedback, but lots of people are chattering.

Oh. And can someone please explain to me the point of 'fanlistings' ?

Edit: This was not, btw, a shriek or cry because I haven't gotten feedback. It was simply another brain moment of me noting how similar fandomfiction cycles are. 's all.

Fanlistings: supposed to be a place for a list of fans so that they can all be connected through the Magic of the Interweb, but really, just a nice and easy way to get lots of relevant traffic to your website.

Fanlistings are ... total onanism for whoever created the fanlisting and GOT THE OFFICIAL FANLISTING OMFG!!! I am ashamed to say that my ex-matrix fandom-self had a fanlisting (not of my choice) and I find that a little freaky.

I've never found fanlistings helpful except for the blessed few that also offer hard to find images and/or spoilers, etc.
