More iconses.

This time it's Blake's 7 (I apparently was in the mood). Avon, Blake, Jenna, Cally, Gan. Got stumped after that and made depressing Sam Carter icons...

And. Dude. My playlist has been screwing my brain all night, too...

...no:)? Hell, iconage is fun and practice makes perfect. Hope I didn't sound offensive!:( I make all of mine on Photoshop just because it is better with fonts (and their antialiasing) and also retains better image quality when compressed to .gif. Than Paint shop Pro does, that is. It also allows you to get the sharpening just right so the faces arent' so damn blurry--I hate making icons of promo shots because they're really hard to sharpen. See my kickass Jenna/Cally icon:(...

heh. I am kind of unable to see a difference, though. I've done a few that were both gif and jpg. Same image and everything, and couldn't see a difference. (because I've heard before there's supposed to be one, and I... just don't see it. Sorry.)

I have no real preference. Gifs are made if I'm going to do animated ones, though.

Perhaps it is because I see your fonts and pics being rather blurry whereas I sometimes prefer sharpness instead:).

Jpegs need to be compressed, so the images become more blurry the more you compress them--and with the LJ 40k limit it means poorer quality than with a GIF, which retains all the colours, usually. The Avon-Jenna pic you used was blurry to begin with, and in all the A or J icons their faces are blurry as is the text. If you'd saved them as GIFs, they'd be sharper. The compression of the JPEG is the main problem I have with iconage and image editing in general, grr. It bugs me too, reducing my photomanips'quality in order to save on webspace.

I'll use my angry Dayna icon here to show an example of something made with Photoshop, picture very sharp and text very sharp, saved as a .gif. Not as an offense to you!:).

BTW, your playing list sounds fabulous. I wish I could get Thrill Kill Kult CDs here...
