hrm

So. I was trolling through yahoogroups, to see what other Atlantis groups were out there.

There's another John/Elizabeth one. It's not as fun as nos's, however. The fanfic rules? Make me want to break them. A lot.

1) ~* No sex.
2) ~* Minimal profanity and violence, (i.e. No beheadings, blood spurting, disembowelments, etc.)
3) ~* No demonic content. (i.e. witchcraft, possession.)
4) ~* Family friendly stories. (see #2 & #3)
5) ~* No homosexual couples. Only John/Elizabeth, but secondary couples are allowed, just not slash.
6) ~* Has to be G to PG-13.

I'm tempted to try and do it with only one hundred words... We'll see how that goes.

In the meantime, I should... get some water. Hrm.

No sex? *cries*

What else is fanfic for? And I think I'm honestly curious here.

I don't know. I suppose this means they're stuck in UST for the next seven years. *runs*

Ha! I wonder if this community was started by the girl who requested that nos make one and then ran away.

And the "family friendly fandom" thing has always puzzled me a bit, especially when it goes as far as telling people not to swear. Because if your child is old enough to read a newsgroup...

Oh, and here's another important question:

3) ~* No demonic content. (i.e. witchcraft, possession.)

How did you people survive watching Stargate? The characters get possessed monthly!

Oh, well, now that we look more canonical I guess it was only a matter of time ;)

100 words, you say?

Also -- what's the group name? I'm curious now.

*snicker*

I did it in 300. It got away from me.

Oh, well, that's dull. I was hoping there would be actual members or posts or something that I could spy on and be oddly fascinated (because, like elly, I am curious). Oh well.

No kidding.

*eyes you* SEND LITTLE RED YOUR ADDRESS!

The brainwashing will be twice as worse for every day you resist! ;)

Also? Still owe you money. When should I send? Along with tapes on which for you to tape? *cute*

I love challenges. Too bad I don't write fan fic, because if I did, I'd write stuff that got right up against the edge of their rules (but not over the edge), just to see what they'd do about it.

*sigh* Sorry. Trying this again without the snarling.

I'm aware that it's possible for shipperfic to contain other types of relationships and experiences in addition. I think you were probably being at least somewhat facetious here, despite the "honestly curious" bit. I've just gotten very tired in my own fandoms of the people who seem to assume that every fanfic has to be about shipping, or sex, or whatever, and regard genfic (where the point is, well, pretty much anything besides the romantic or sexual relationships) as a novelty (which I've encountered; some of them are fine, and accurate in thinking it's rarer, but the ones who think it doesn't exist are a little unnerving) or somehow incomplete (which I've actually been mostly oblivious to, but I know people who get reviews suggesting this).
