Comics!Comics!Comics!

So. Short reviews of the stuff I read today:
Thanos #11: Heh. There's some very pretty art...
Hawkeye #8: I can't believe the flonqers are cancelling this.
Route 666 #22: Awww. It's like a bedtime story, but with blood!
Birds of Prey # : Damn my roommate. Good stuff.
Ghostbusters #1: Hee!
Cable & Deadpool #4: BOYS! Behave! Damn. Fabian is God.

Thanos. I'm really enjoying this. It's still the best, think with your head comic that no one is buying. And the little fairy chick is SO growing on me. And Peter. There's somethin' about a grumpy, cranky guy... Sigh. Could so care less about the plot, but the plot is good to (and, look! Continuity! My god, the sky si full of stars!)

Hawkeye. Really can't believe they're cancelling this. It's funny, sweet, touching, painful, amusing as all hell.. And it has Natasha Romanova in it. How can they go wrong? And really damned pretty art. Heh.

Route 666. I still heart Tenebrion. The flashbacks were a bit predictable, but nicely graphic and full of pain and human suffering. !!! I'm so shocked as to who the other demon-y guy was. Eeeek! It's, it's, continuity! Canon! Yay! Made me shriek, too, man. I was all, like, "Ohmigod!" Erm. No spoiler, because it's too frickin' cool. There was, however, NOT enough Cisco. I need my cranky men, damnit.

Birds of Prey. My roommate actually collects this, but I've been reading it, too. This felt like a transition issue, with things laid out, and stuff. It's still got great writing (Gail Simone needs fan mail), and gorgeous interaction between all of them. And even some sly humor.

Ghostbusters. Picked this up on the recomendation of a friend. It's fab, lots of great humor, character interaction... Sigh. It's the guys from the first movie, and it's beautiful to see them again. Can't wait for the next issue.

Cable & Deadpool. Fabian is a bad bad bad man. And that's why I love him. This was another lovely installment of the best comic ever. In the entire history of comics, nothing can compare to Wade's mockery of various public figures. Or his lust of Bea Arthur. Or Nate's use of weapons. Fabian also deserves much fan mail and acclaim (he did Hawkeye, too. The man is SO multi-talented. Sigh) And, yes, this ALMOST filled my quota for cranky men. Almost.

So. All in all, a good haul. Can't wait 'til next month!
