These contain some spoilery type things, so I'll chuck them behind a cut. Posting this in more than once place, apologies if you see this more than once.
Who is currently at the mansion?
How did Jean die?
Was there a funeral for Jean?
How have people reacted to Emma and Scott boinking? (in canon, that is, not fan reaction)
Summary of semi-recent history?

Re: I'll tackle a couple.
Damn near everyone. Wolvie, Storm, Nightcrawler, Bishop, Sage, Marvel Girl (Rachel using the last name Grey), Cannonball, all on one team. Iceman, Havok, Angel, Husk, Jubilee, Juggernaut, Polaris, all on one team. Cyclops, Emma Frost, Beast, Kitty Pryde, Northstar, Dani Moonstar, and Xi'an Coy Manh as teachers at the school. And I prolly missed a few.

Several people are NOT happy. Beast told Scott that scott's not the person he (Beast) thought he was. Wolverine attacked Scott because... I forget the motivation. It was Wolvie attacking Scott. Like he needs motivation. And Rachel and Emma almost got into a telepathic knockdown-dragout. Pretty much everyone else has figured it out (Scott and Emma aren't "openly" involved), but they just gossip about it.

Our dear favorite bad guy Magneto tricked the intrepid band of mutants up to an
asteroid circling Earth, little did they know until it was too late, that this trapped
Jeannie and Logan on Asteroid M, which Magneto sent plummetting towards the sun.
In an action expressing his "love" Wolvie snikkt'd out his pigstickers and jabbed Jeannie
in the tummy. Little did he know that this awoke the Phoenix _once_ more and she transported herself and Logan back to Earth in New X-Men #150, where they confronted Magneto, and as she tackled him,
he 'infected' her with an electromagnetic pulse, which gave her "a planetary sized stroke".
Logan then turned around and while Magneto was distracted ripped his innards out.
An epilogue shows a Phoenix cocoon in the Blue Area of the Moon, being discovered 150 years later...

From New X-Men #156:
Beast: "You were married to her Scott, which implies certain commitments. I like Emma, as I said,
but you betrayed a friend. Someone I loved. And this is very hard for me to say, but I don't like you very much right now."

...so, technically, Grant "I am a Pothead" Morrison, everyone's Wunderkind "He Is So Kewl And Righteously New Idea'd" really just stole all of that from Chris Claremont. ... (Jean and Logan blew up a god-damned factory together, for instance... And Asteroid M. Again? When will it die? And being 'infected' with something techie... hello, Apocalypse....)
I knew there was a reason I wasn't reading it.

Actually, it wasn't even an infection, per se...
Mags just reached out and touched Jean while she lay on the ground.
Apparently, he had the foresight to know that a Phoenix transformation was coming,
so he stored up power while he was disguised as Xorn...
(or something like that.)
Yes, death by 'infection' is not something new, but it did make me think,
just because he took out Phoenix with it for cripe's sake...
Phoenix is supposed to be this big scary energy being, and finally, someone was smart
enough to figure out that an energy disruption could take it out, instead of having Logan
use his pigstickers...
So in that case, I'd peg it as more original than normal.
