So. Happy day. Have a job now.

Through Manpower, working at Northwestern Mutual. I had to go in and do a drug test today. Kinda weird.

I also had an interview with the casino. Don't think it went well, but I'm not worried. Katie, the Manpower rep who gave me the test said that, once you've worked once, (if you get good reviews) you tend to get more assignments. So. Yay.

Oh, and the job lasts through mid-January.

Behind the lj cut, I'm going to shove some notes I wrote on my hand. So I can actually wash the back of it.

Yes, you generally start getting more assignments after the first one goes well. That's why at the beginning you take ANYTHING they offer -- one day, low pay, filling in for someone sick, anything. They have to make sure you're going to show up on time and act in a reasonably professional manner while you're there. Obviously, the better your assignments go, the better (and more) you start to get, because you have such a positive record. (And heck, I've had people ask for me back, so that's another nifty thing.) But the first one is really the key, because it's your In, since temp agencies do such minimal interview/background stuff.

I think they have. My mother says I've got overseas mail, so I'm assuming they did. I'll be making my way home next week to get them. :)
