Today was spent trawling about Milwaukee, job-hunting. Everyone was very nice, but no one is hiring. Although Manpower is having a 'job fair' on Monday.

Also checked one other apartment, in case the Cambridge one falls through.

This place? Total last resort. I'd rather go back to St. Louis, almost.

Checked into bank accounts. Wow. They require signing over of firstborn children, your social security benefits, AND any and all possible earnings. It's easier to hold up a bank than it is to deposit money there.

That's not really sarcasm, sadly.

I've had my credit union account for ten years. And in that time I've bounced exactly three checks. Three out of probably 300. That's fucking good, I would say. Especially considering how little money I've had.

Pardon me for a moment while I curse. It's been a long damned day, and my head hurts like a motherfucker.

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

Hrm.

Anyway. Fucking Wal-Mart might still be hiring. So might fucking Home Depot. Dunno. Don't really want to work at either place, but I may have to.

Cross your fingers that the fucking Yankee Candle Company calls us back and says, "Hey, come in, we're going to condescend to let you fill out an application. But we probably won't hire you."

It's a viscious fucking cycle. To open a bank account, I need a permanent address and a job. To get an apartment, I need money. To get money, I need a job. To get a job, I need a fucking permanent address, and a bank account to deposit money into.

Sigh. I should probably go to bed.
