There is much to be said...
And little to be thought, methinks.
I've just spent a week moving out of Texas and St. Louis, and into Cedarburg. It's a strange experience, to say the least.
When I got to Killeen, I found that Shai wasn't as packed as I had hoped. That is to say, she had one or two or three boxes... And the rest strewn about.
Had I known the army were going to fuck over the time we had, I'd have immediately begun throwing things into boxes.
I didn't. Instead, I lazed about until Thursday evening when I did, in fact, begin packing boxes. But in a leisurely fashion. It wasn't until Friday afternoon that I began clearing Daniel's room. Found some interesting stuff there. I think eBay may be useful.
Friday night Shai and I packed the apartment, packed the truck, cleaned the apartment, and did it all again. Until it was done. And we were dropping into the truck about Saturday afternoon. Neither of us had slept more than an hour or two that night, but we still left and drove up to St. Louis.
About 3am, neither of us could go on. So we crashed for 3 hours. I drove the last 2 hours into Barnhart, the last hour was spent slamming a fist into my leg, biting my lip, and generally poking myself to stay awake. I needed a bed. Not a crashing truck.
Interestingly, and annoyingly, enough, the last 600 miles of the drive was through fog dense enough to obscure even the road in front of us. I'm sure it didn't help.
Sunday night we slept. Monday, we packed and left.
Tuesday, we located a storage place, unpacked the truck, and took it back. I'm proud of us, really. We unpacked the truck in 3 1/2 hours.
Today, we are jobhunting, contacting our landlady, and generally recovering.

I am about to try working on my novel. As soon as I find a comfortable chair. *wince* Damnit.
