BSG Ficlet: Helo, Starbuck, pre-series
Because I might as well post this somewhere. Just a short silly thing set pre-series with joking and stupidity.
Helo hopped back into the raptor, intent on the cookie he'd left there before having to go report to Chief. To his surprise, he found Starbuck sprawled on the floor, holding the last of said cookie. Said chocolate-chip, gooey, amazing, cookie of taste and goodness.
"Seriously?" he asked, glaring down at her. "That was my cookie."
"Didn't have a name on it." Waving the last sliver at him, she added, "But I can be generous. Would you like the rest of the cookie, Helo?"
Leaning down, he grabbed it from her, stuffing it in his mouth, then huffed. It just didn't taste as good as it should have. But at least he'd gotten some of it. Considering the lazy pilot laying on his raptor floor, he tried to decide how to get her back.
Cheating at cards would have to do. But first--
He opened the bottle of water in his hand, took a long drink and then turned it over, drenching her.
"What--frak--" Sputtering, Starbuck jerked to her feet, then slapped his arm. "You motherfrakker."
"You ate my cookie."
"Uh-huh. This is how you're gonna play this?" She stood there, hands on her hips, laughter in her eyes.
Helo shrugged and drank the last of his water, then tossed the bottle to her. "Figure we're even now."
"Oh, you do, huh?" Moving in, she leaned up against him, "We are not even a little even now, asshole."
Maintaining a straight face with a soaked Kara Thrace glaring up at him was just way too hard. Karl cracked up, shoving her away and leaning up against the wall of the raptor. "Gods, your face--"
"MY face?" Snickering, Starbuck kicked at his leg, then shoved him out of the way to sit in one of the chairs. "You are such an asshole."
"Already called me that."
"Shit."
"This is what you two get up to when I'm away?" Boomer asked, sticking her head in and staring at the both of them. "Frak. Clean that up, Helo, or I'll have your ass on report."
"Oh, sir, yes, sir." He mock-saluted.
Starbuck snickered again.
"You two are such assholes," suggested Boomer, but she was grinning even as she shook her head and left them to their idiocy.

I mostly posted it as I realized I didn't have anything of interest to say, and I felt it was silly enough to be cheering.
