So, like, two years ago, someone got me to create a tumblr (with Lizzeh/Shep images, ok. I am weak). However, that tumblr was literally created and then... left forgotten. Until now, because there is fandom content there and people babbling about shippy things.

(and I'm weak and sometimes bored)

Which, sidetrack, but. SPARKTOBER IS COMING. Just in case anyone forgot. (is that even a thing anymore?)

But I am here. Where I will continue to talk about nothing of substance, reblog gifs of pretty people, and read meta on random things.

Which. Meta. Shit, I hadn't read meta in so long because while I love DW/LJ still, almost no one posts here anymore about things I watch--except that one obnoxious dude in the doctorwho comm, I think?). Which is not a bad thing, it's just, everyone moves on. Anyway, but meta. Reading it made me all gleeful like the first time I wrote a "No, this is why Sam does not deserve to be tortured for dating Pete, are you fucking kidding me" rant back in the day.

(also, speaking of Sparky, did you know you can still read the old Sparky list archives and our ridiculous, "Fuck, let's name it Sparky" conversation? Because you can.)

I managed to log into my fanction.net account, where I discovered there is now an X-Force option in comics! Seriously, when I wrote Dom/Nate fic, that did not exist. (we had to lug our fic backwards in the snow to the servers, mate. Let me tell you). Er, which is to say, I will be slowly (finally), updating the pairings settings on a lot of fic. I still refuse to fix the html issues, though. Because I am not re-uploading/editing that much fic (although I suppose at least some of it, I could strip the table tags out of, since the files are somewhere. er)

Also. I need to track down the files for Alphabet Soup, since that needs to actually go up on a life archive. Somewhere. Also, because I want to re-read it and find out how awful it is. (not quite baby's first fanfic, but)

(speaking of movies and things I'm cautiously optimistic for, CAPTAIN MARVEL looks very shiny)

ETA: How do I not have a Sparktober tag. How.

HAH. I think I friended you back in the day for BSG, and since I still babble about that (though I don't think anyone talks about it anymore there...)

The fandom tide has rather gone out here. It's awkward, because I have a tumblr and I use it, but I can't fandom on it. I think it does work better if you can be into a specific thing, or a couple of specific things. I'm glad you're having fun with it! It is nice to look sometimes and realise fandom hasn't stopped; it just moved.

I was never planning to go to tumblr -- part of it was that endless scroll killlllls my browser dead. a lot. Or did? I don't know.

And DW/LJ isn't completely dead, it's just. I actually was reading meta on tumblr from the shippers of the pairing I fell into, and it was just... easier to log in and suddenly I could see more content and...

I had forgotten what it was like to have 10 pages to get through my friends list! I might not comment on most of it, but.

And I think it does work best with a small selection of fandoms. I don't think I could handle adding DW/BSG/SG/etc, the way I do on journaling services.

Yeha. There's people there, fandoming! Lots of them! It's nice. I keep just failing at it, though.

*nods* You just end up trying to block and filter everything and it makes it harder not to want to murder people when before you could just not join that comm or clink that link/cut.

I mean, somewhere along the way Little Red's mom died and my dad got progressively sicker and then died and Sparktober fell off our radars as an organized thing well before Dad died. Life has been happening.

But someone else could revive Sparktober? They'd have my blessing. I'd hand over the comm and I think it's just a tag on Tumblr?

I've been pining for SGA now that I'm doing an SG1 rewatch. (We rewatched The First Commandment and Brief Candle last night! ALL THE FEELS.)

This is true. And it's not like I've been the most active person, myself (because life). I just was... startled to realize that it had swung round again to October.

Also, it was one of those things where I was dipping my toe back into fandom and suddenly remembering that there was more to fandom than reading fic. If that makes sense?

I'm almost terrified to go see the last time Sparktober was active. (there was one post on tumblr!)

I went through an SGA pining moment a couple of years ago. Right at the moment, I'm in a weird BSG/Farscape pining stage where I sort of want to re-watch both, but at the same time remembering how hard some of it (ok, BSG) was to watch in the first place. Plus, Farscape makes me cry like a baby.
