Surfacing again

I do totally live. I've tried catching up a few times and given it up as a bad business.

1. Work is... well, one co-worker has shifted to a different position, and our boss has moved to a different division (it's a great move for him), and my last co-worker and I are basically like "So, we report to each other now, ya?" Because A's position is not being filled (per rumor), and boss R's position is not easy to fill (if anyone knows someone with lots of technical accounting skill, now is the time to send them my way--especially if they want to move to Milwaukee)

2. I did not go to Wiscon this year. I don't really miss it. I miss meeting people, but not the con itself. Besides, I went to Madison for Costume Con a couple weeks ago (and was amused, because: Teslacon hotel was not dolled up for Teslacon).

3. Amusingly, a fic I wrote eons ago that I was mostly only proud of due to it making the whole Ororo/T'Challa thing make sense in my head is now getting kudos. Ah, Marvel fandom. That's on AO3. On FF'net, people are still favoriting/following my Sam/Jack and Scully/Mulder fic (and sometimes, Kara/Sam)

4. I have not kept up with any tv, not even my beloved Motive. Instead, I have been re-watching Marple and Midsomer Murders and reading bad fic.

4. *high-fives* I spent the weekend watching Drunk History and getting slept on by my cat. Otherwise I would have been watching similar.

There was also some Foyle in there (I made it through the Russian House again! And then the next dvds wouldn't work and I gave up)

US TV has been pretty dire the last few months anyway. Popular theory is that 2 Star Wars movie with a central white female lead and mostly POC portraying the supporting protagonists (though that setup is iffy in its own way) has caused mass hysteria among Hollywood execs.

I think i missed WisCon itself more than you, but i certainly missed all the people a lot.

That is a theory similar to my own (men in tv land now grew up with their fathers whining about how Women Used to Know Their Place, so they subconsciously undercut all female characters or just assume they wouldn't be in something)

It... wouldn't surprise me (MEGAN, I am still stuck on CBS passing on Sarah Shahi as Nancy Drew because it was too 'female'. what.)
