Winter Soldier, Listen, and er, idk. Other things

1. I did not see the second Captain America movie in the theatre. This is a good thing as I'm pretty sure [livejournal.com profile] nique and I would have been thrown out given how many times we were loudly mocking things happening on the screen. ([livejournal.com profile] timjr was, too, but he was quieter. I think). It was all right--I really thought Natasha got a lot to do in it. And I didn't keep expecting Sharon to skewer someone with a revenge thing, so props to Emily VC for not being Amanda. And Sam was awesome. (I really think the next two movies should be 1. Sam and Cap road-tripping to find Buuuuucky the wangsty winter assassin and 2. Maria, Natasha and Fury doing fun spy-things.)

2. Moff continues to try to scare the shit out of me with 'Listen'. Clara continues to be lovely (and her dress was amazing, I want one).

3. I watched the first episode of Paradox the other day. Tamzin Outhwaite is one of the leads, it's SF, and it's... really dull. I can see why it was cancelled quickly. (seriously, HOW DO YOU MAKE TAMZIN OUTHWAITE DULL. I do not understand it. sigh) I think maybe it took itself waaaaay too seriously. Not to mention the establishing shot was pure Torchwood and nothing fun followed it. (no, seriously, so dull I skipped to the end after fifteen minutes of waiting for something to happen)

4. Now that Guardians of the Galaxy has done so well, I want space opera to come back, dammit. I NEED SPACESHIPS. And pilots. And aliens and ridiculousness. Sadly, none of the current crop of SF is even remotely helpful for fixing that itch. I am seriously considering a Farscape re-watch.

A Farscape rewatch is ALWAYS a good idea! :D

I really enjoyed 'Listen' I thought it was really clever. I didn't enjoy the first 2 episodes much, I found them kind of boring, so was really pleased that Listen was better (IMO).

What I really should do is mp3 it all and kill my braaains at work. Ys.

Listen was fantastic--I wish I could sit down and pour out my too-long thoughts, but they're mostly jumbled and 'this, yes,THIS, good." Which is sadly incoherent.

1. I haven't seen it yet, but since I only saw the first one about 2 weeks ago, I'm not in a big rush :) Also, I would really like that second movie. Or anything with Maria and Natasha kicking ass together. Especially if Melinda May helped them out from time to time.

2. That was so creepy. I think I would've had nightmares if I was a kid and I saw that episode. Especially the bit with whatever/whoever that was on the bed.

4. MORE SPACE SHOWS YES PLEASE. I'm hoping SyFy's Ascension will do well and they'll either make it into a series or start doing more space stuff in general.

1. Bwaha. I think we watched the first one earlier this year? idk. I just wasn't that interested (it is my besetting sin that Tony Stark gets all my thoughts in the MCU. /so ashamed--I mean, I like Pepper, too. And Natasha. But it's Tony Stark and Maria Hill and Jane Foster who own the keys to my heart.)

2. Just thinking about it tells me I would have -- luckily, have not had any issues now (I think the Clara being the under the bed thing reversal REALLY HELPED; because like, I was just down in the basement after we played a zombie dice game and I was all "er... there is darkness, there might zombies" I blame the alcohol, but am also terrified of darkness) er, and that got away from me.

4. Is that Tricia Helfer's new show? I hope it does well.

lol, I ended up seeing the second one the other day when I was pet-sitting for my neighbor. I actually really liked it, far more than the first. I'm not that invested in the MCU in general, but I LOVE Maria and Natasha. Which probably explains why I liked Winter Solider so much :)

yes, that's her new show. Though I think they're calling it an event series or some such. Which I assume means it's meant to be stand-alone, unless it does well and then maybe they'll make more. That's what I'm hoping for, anyway. BECAUSE TRICIA AND SPACE!!!

/Now that Guardians of the Galaxy has done so well, I want space opera to come back, dammit./ - OMG, I have such a burning need for some good sci-fi! All we get lately is Tom Cruise (though I kinda loved Edge of Tomorrow, but that was probably due to Emily Bunt's awesomeness) or J.J.Abrams (I looove Trek but, nope, I found the last movie pretty awful). Hopefully Jupiter Ascending will rock. (And Farscape is so awesome! I should really start a rewatch one of those days...)

People will be like "Oh, you should watch Defiance." or "Agents of SHIELD!" when I whine. And, like, yes, both of those are SF. And DW is space opera.

BUT NONE OF THEM ARE FARSCAPE SPACE OPERA. which is what I want. Hell, I will happily take all of the Babylon 5 Space Opera you want to put on my tv. Just. spaceships and aliens and ridiculousness, please.

I should possibly not rant. sigh.

OMG, yes! So much! All I want is some spaceships and epic battles and aliens. And I'll take robots too, no problem. I love me some robots. Actually, I think that in general I like my space opera a bit more epic (and a bit less "ridiculous") than you but we're so totally on the same wavelength! Like, are we supposed to wait for the new Star Wars movie? I don't even trust Mr. Abrams anymore, I'm almost afraid of what he'll come up with... *shakes head*

/I should possibly not rant. sigh./ - But that's OK... we can rant together! :D

Also, the problem with a Farcape re-watch is that once you start, there's no going back, you'll be totally sucked in... :D
