emo girl music, whatever

1. Clowns are scary.

2. Abandoned trains freak me out.

3. Combine the two, and I am now gonna have some terrible dreams

A. Yes, it was time for my yearly (bi-annually?) immersion in [livejournal.com profile] abandonedplaces (so many mental hospitals, people. SO MANY) (I still like the creepy snowmen from two years ago best)

B. I have gone through three discs of Arrow, and I'm not really finding it any better than CW's Beauty amd the Beast (Vincent will always be BatB's terrible low point, though. Which is sad. Amell's abs are totally worth Vincent's dullness. Can we switch leading white dudes?). This is not to say it isn't occasionally entertaining. But it doesn't scratch my REVENGE itch very well anymore (for, like, two episodes, it was very revengy). Also, every Island flashback makes it more dull.

C. I am still behind on Sleepy Hollow, Elementary and... um. Whatever else it is I watch. Except PoI. I'm caught up on that. I've seen the second two-parter of Bletchley Circle, too.

D. Apparently, I have a thing for Darcy/Loki fic. Dunno why. (most of it isn't even in-character. Maybe that's the draw? idek)

E. I picked up comics, finally. I still miss Journey Into Sif Punching Everyone in the Face and Fearless Defenders. (seriously, nothing I picked up was as good as those two) :/ (where are my epic mythology and lesbians, comics? Oh, right, nowhere to be seen, because you're all too busy drawing panty-shots)

F. I should really be in bed. sigh. night.

I loved Arrow from the start, but Season 2 is even better than Season 1, so hopefully you'll like it. And the flashbacks get more interesting with time. Also, there are more and more amazing ladies!

I stopped BatB after 3 episodes of dullness, so I don't really get the comparison, but of course YMMV.

hahahah. I don't even remember what my train of thought was (and I can understand. Vincent is the dullest of dull things ever. At least Mr. Amell has amazing abs to off-set his dullness when he opens his mouth or angsts. And there are bows and bad guys going down, which is a happy place for me)

I suspect it was that I've seen a lot of commentary over the last two years about Arrow being AMAZING AND THE BEST AND SO AWESOME while BatB is generally mentioned as being awful. And I don't find either better, they have some of the basic plot structures (ANGSTY WHITE DUDE WITH REVENGE FANTASIES and romance shenanigans). But Arrow focuses on dudes, whiny teens and dudes; and BatB focuses on women, dudes and whiny white dudes.

(and Sendhil Ramamurthy, taking his shirt off for great justice)

And I am very shallow about this.

(and ngl, I would dump both of these for SPACE OPERA, SKIFFY, WHERE IS MY SPACE OPERA; or a Farscape re-watch).

Oh my, that is a creepy little train.

But as for it being in Africa; it would have to be in a temperate part of Africa if it were there; it's obviously winter or early spring in that photo and it's really cloudy. Makes me wonder if they could get an expert to ID the brush and trees to help pinpoint the location. It sure looks like the NorthEast US or Canada to me in terms of the plant life.

*shudders* I keep looking at it, trying to desensitize myself.

The foliage in the last photo (the one from Tanzania) does look different, so yeah. I don't know where it is, in the end, sadly. Or maybe not sadly. I'm pretty sure it would be even creepier in real life.

I think Arrow gets better as it goes along but I do not have the LOVE for it that a lot of people do. Though season 2 introduced several new ladies, all of whom I find incredibly intriguing, so I'm much happier with it this season than in season 1. Except for one bit I'll tell you about if you get to season 2.

Heh. I'll get there eventually. I've sort of hit a "boooorred nooow, ugh" empasse (this happens! I had the same issue with Covert Affairs in season three, and though I've got the dvds because ladyspies, obvsly, I haven't watched the rest yet).

If I'd had alll of season one in front of my face instead of only three discs, I might've plowed through the rest of it over Monday-tonight. But, er. Distance and objectivity.

That said, I would happily watch the AU version of the show that is Huntress running around having inappropriate ust with Laurel in her apartment. sgh (why does no one give me this). I feel that no one should be surprised about my feelings for Laurel, she is basically the Katie Holmes character from Batman Beyond who gave me all the feels

um. that rambled more than I'd thought it would.

I watched all of season 3 of Covert Affairs but I've yet to see any of season 4. IDK...everything I read/heard about it sounded like I wouldn't enjoy it. I may look it up at some point.

Ugh, I would sign up for that Huntress/Laurel show in a heartbeat. A HEARTBEAT. Of course, I'd watch anything where the writers had a clear purpose for Laurel.

Yeah, as much as I like Laurel, there have been more than a few times where I was like "...you guys just needed someone to say that, so you picked one of the chicks. Thanks for the characterization."

Thanks for the rusted out clown train pic. It would be even better with the adult children who rode on it looking all "WTF! Where are they taking us!"

Sorry... Lost my train of thought; the rusted old clown train of thought.
