I'm so disappointed now :(

I mean. I TOTALLY DO appreciate that she got the god-damned big-ass HERO OF ALL TIME ending. But, DAMMIT, SHOW. DAMMIT.
(otoh, I am pretty sure Stills is not long for this world. Lessee... John, Fusco, Finch, Elias, Shaw, possibly Zoe Morgan her killer heels, even Root if she's out and allowed free rein.... Yeah, Stills is reaaaallly not long for this world. Though there might be some pain involved first)

Also, let's hope Shaw releases Root at some point because Finch sucks.

THAT COULD BE FUN. I sort of feel like Shaw sort of thought Root should have been joining in? Like, I have this vague memory of her hinting about letting Root out of the cage to help with the badassery or something. Or maybe that's just my personal fanon. *bluhs*
(ALSO. THERE WAS THAT MOMENT WHERE Root was talking about her intimate association with the Machine, and I was all "Root, did you just say you were gay for the Machine?")

Shaw: But why don't you ask the Machine?
Finch: The Machine doesn't talk to me.
(Because the Machine knows he sucks.)
Shaw: But she does.
And yeah, Root was basically telling Finch she was into his daughter and his daughter was into her as well. :-P

So I randomly watched last week’s episode. I was just relaxing and watching TV that night and it was the only interesting thing on at that hour so I thought, ‘what the hell?’ And then I got really into it. It was all Carter-centric and she was on a mission and blowing shit up and having back-story stuff and it was all good. Then it got to the end of the episode and she’s like ‘so I brought some friends, too’ and Reese busts through the door and shoots everyone. Then they kidnap a dude together and I’m sold. I’ve got a favorite character and a favorite ship and I can’t wait for this week’s episode.
So I sit down to watch it this morning and it’s awesome. Carter and Reese are awesome, Sarah’s character is all snarky and lone gunman-like. Emerson’s all creepy and feeling second best because the Machine likes Amy Acker better. And Amy’s just having so much fun throwing that in his face. And then there are the pilot references which I’m excited about since the pilot is one of the few episodes I’ve actually seen. And then Carter and Reese kiss – was it their first kiss? It felt like a first kiss – and I’m thinking how awesome my timing is because I started watching this show at the exact right moment. But then everyone is happy and I know something awful is going to happen and then the end...Even with the kissing and the back-story last week, I didn’t see it coming. At most, I thought they’d both get kidnapped by that last remaining bad guy. I never thought they’d KILL her. And now I’m just so bummed. And that’s after only two episodes of investment (I’ve seen a few first season episodes but it was a while ago and I wasn’t invested at all then) so I can’t even imagine what you and other people who actually watch the show are feeling.

I think it wouldn't be so bad if the dude in charge of the show weren't going around saying things like "But we did it because it's fucking entertaining!" and "every character has an ending point, we knew that going in" (when I feel like Reese and Fusco have both told their entire stories already and have been stuck in a static pattern for half a season, so they could easily have been the ones canned).
Nolan (not the Batman one, his cousin or brother or something) needs to just shut up.
I am still sort of reeling, because I'm not angry, but I'm also not not angry. I'm disappointed, but ths isn't like Nikita where I was blisteringly rageful and QUIT. Because PoI still hits all of my Leverage-and-revenge-buttons, and Shaw and Root are still around, and I HEART THEM. And and. GOD DAMMIT, SHOW. LOOK AT YOUR CHOICES.
(just as an fyi, I think this season has had some very very strong Carter stuff all the way through, so even if it's anger-inducing, you may want to check it out for more of her being awesome)

Wait...entertaining? How is that entertaining? Upsetting, yes. Depressing, yes. Something that impacts the others characters, sure. But entertaining? Not so much.
Yeah, I mean...Well, I don't really know how I'd feel if I'd been watching all along but it didn't piss me off to the degree that other deaths have. But still...there were other characters you could've killed. It would've been a hell of a lot more shocking if they'd killed Reese or Reese and Carter together.
I may watch more. I think I'll try to watch the next episode and see how they deal with her death and then decide.
