1. There is supposedly a Spooks movie in the works. I was already wary of the idea, if only because of the shit-tasticness of seasons 9 and 10. Unfortunately, I've heard that the people writing the movie are the same shit-tastic dudes who wrote seasons 9 and 10. I have zero interest in it now. My interest in the project could only get less if you told me Joss Whedon were writing it.

2. Sleepy Hollow was very dull this week. We had three weeks off, and that's what we came back to? Also, way to rip of Haven, there (even if Haven's baseball episode ripped off a billion other things).

3. For some reason, despite how awesome the last several episodes have been, I haven't been able to bring myself to watch this week's Person of Interest. I expect that it's because I don't really trust tv anymore.

4. Teslacon happened somewhere in the last week. As did month end. I'm not entirely sure I'm sober (or that I was sober during month end).

5. My copy of the Journey Into Sif Punching the Universe in the face (the second trade) showed up on Friday. It made me a little sad all over again (all of Marvel's new books do not make up for it being canceled and never will).

6. Speaking of dull, I'm sorry, but the Gail Simone Red Sonja is so boring I can't even bring myself to buy an issue just to support the cause of female writers in comics. Seriously. How do you make Red Sonja boring? I don't even know.

7. There is, however, this, which makes up for everything ever (it is like Lyssie catnip.)

8. I should go to bed, it's late.

9. Favorite new drink mix (since mixing martinis from Bar Louie is difficult without all of the fixings... mmm. pomegranate-flavored anything): Whipped-cream flavored vodka, cherry pucker and pepsi. Mix equalish parts to taste (too much of one makes it too sweet. there's a balance). like sweeter cherry coke.

10. I feel very disconnected from fandom. and I'm going to stop there because anything else I say will be whiny self-pity

I just got my copy of the second JiM trade yesterday and read the whole thing last night. I think I will have to read again before I write up my thoughts on it, because my inability to follow Immonen's storytelling style continues apace. However, the ART, oh my gosh, I just want to roll around in it. And I love all the elements of it, because somehow space is the best possible place for Sif to be (and Midgard is the second best place, so of course I LOOOOVED all the stuff with Jane Foster), and we get Gaea and Sif+Gaea feelings (and Sif/Gaea? hmm? hmm? but female friendship would also be TOTALLY FAB), and we get Beta Ray Bill, whom I adore. So I loved all the elements, even if I do not quite follow how Immonen put them together.

I like the idea of Red Sonja, but in practice I will probably never be able to even try it unless she ditches the metal bikini. Iconic, whatever, I have lots of lady comics that do not feature metal bikinis.

Sif in space is amaaaaazing. How do you like the trade? I bought the single issues but they're so pretty I was thinking about getting the book, although Marvel seems to be using somewhat floppy paper these days.

How much of Gail Simone's Red Sonja have you read? I got the first issue and lost interest due to a combination of being bored and being constantly confused by her outfit, but what I've seen of the later issues looks potentially interesting.

I've been reading Gail's Sonja, and it's been interesting to me. (and no, it's not the 'chicks in chainmail' thing...)

I've felt very disconnected from fandom for some time due to various incidents, and while it sucks, it leaves opportunity to open new doors.
