I suspect that I really liked the episode, but it was cheesy and silly. AND SO FARSCAPE. I seriously kept wondering if this were one of the commerce planets in the Uncharted Territories. I was waiting for Chiana and/or Rygel to appear and steal something/try to con Clara.



Orphan Black 1x2

THIS SHOW. It is like all of my personal narrative kinks combined. WOMEN CON ARTISTS. Women wriggling their way out of situations by wit and guile. Women losing their shit and breaking things. Coning! Assassinations! Weirdness! It is like Spooks and Fringe and The Pretender in one neat package of unf.

Also, Sarah is hot.

(speaking of the Pretender, Sarah could be Miss Parker's stolen babies, and that would be hilarious. She's as hardass as Miss P, and parentage is unknown and OH GOD IT WOULD ALMOST FIT)

Anyway. I love that she bluffed the shit out of the hearing, that she blackmailed the shrink, and that she learned the whole crime scene from the notes Art left.

I love that Beth was a fuck-up, and that Sarah is a fuck-up, and that in exchanging lives, Sarah might fix both of them.

I just. I cannot wait for another episode. I want all the things NOW.

I suspect (possibly more than suspect) that I liked Doctor Who too. I am always entertained :)

And I had never seen Orphan Black but I did watch the episode and was quite intrigued. I like your observation about Miss Parker, ha! Possibly there's a little bit of Max Guevara from Dark Angel in there too?

Do you know much about the show's origin? It reminds me of a book I read a long time ago called "Anna to the Infinite Power."

This is not the most belated reply (that went to the post frm two weeks ago)

I actually have 'Anna to the Infinite Power' sitting to my right, because it was one of the YA novels I brought up from the basement two months ago. I just haven't re-read it yet. (wiki tells me there was a tv movie made out of it which sounds awful)

However, it's probably why I latched onto Orphan Black so fast. =D

DW - I'm watching the repeat and there was a guy looking just like Diagnosan. And the whole idea reminded me of Maldis. :)

Doctor was there before with his granddaughter. :)))

OB - I like it more and more with every episode and all the flawed, screwed up characters in it. I like how Sarah is both tough (pressuring the psychiatrist, conning her way through Beth and Katja's lives) and vulnerable (dealing with Katja's body, making sure her daughter knows she's alive). And Kudos to Tatiana Maslany as I was surprised seeing only two actresses in the opening credit - it feels like the show is so full of female characters one forgets most of them are played by the same person.

I want to know what the Alison and Cosima know.

I really quite loved the upbeat nature of this Who episode. It makes for such a refreshing change from all the ANNNNNGST and MAN PAIN from last season. Though I did cry a bit toward the end when Eleven challenges the parasite to take his memories.

Orphan Black is seriously pretty darned good. I am INTRIGUED, madam. INTRIGUED.

The DW episode had some lovely things: the different cultures and the really nice clothes for some of them. I didn't find it exceptional, though.

I'm totally loving Orphan Black and all its ladies. All of them.

I sort of wish we'd spent the whole episode with the alien species rather than the whole 'plot'. because the plot was boring. sigh. (or maybe they should just go back to 90-minutes episodes. I always feel cheated)
