bow down before the one you serve, you're going to get what you deserve.

Y'know. Someone recently said something along the lines of, "how come when the Democrats are in charge, Republicans grin and bear it, and don't talk about leaving the country." Which implies that when Republicans are in charge, the Dems talk about leaving.

And, I have to say, it's because when the Dems are in charge, at least I don't have to worry about shit like THIS http://bsd.mojones.com/news/outfront/2002/45/ma_153_01.html

There's also a possibility of me affording health care, too. But that's another rant for another time.

Recruits with info?

Why not, must people don't think about the military while in HS.

...It doesn't scare you that this is a loss of privacy? That, basically, the army/navy/etc have carte blanche to stalk and harrass ANY teenager they want to, and there's NOTHING they can do about it?

And don't tell me they can write their congressman.

What? Are you afraid that the UN black helicopters are going to come and buzz your house at 3 AM?

Think of it this way. Even if the US attacks Iraq 9 out of 10 members of the military are not going to see combat, despite what some people say/see on television. So, you enlist, you get a secure job for four to six years, to get trained in a skill, and you get the military to help pay for school. Even if you do not fire a shot in anger in defense of the country, you still help strength the country by getting an education. Am I wrong?

Yeah, that's nice. However, some of us don't give a flying fuck about the military. Some of us don't -want- their help, which is why we're not -in it-.

I was hounded by ROTC, army and navy in high school, and I still get letters from them at my father's house-- AND I NO LONGER LIVE THERE! It was quite disconcerting that they could send me letters, call my house, and contact my school in order to reach me trying to recruit me. And you wanna know how? All because I voluteered some time at a nursing home my freshman year to celebrate vetran's day with a program through my school. Obviously, I MUST be patriotic and want to join the army if I'm willing to assist the old and weak vetrans.

To tell you the truth, I have a lot of respect for anyone that can survive in the military. I still dislike the military and all the things they put people through, and if they ever drafted me, I'd be moving to Canada or going into hiding somewhere.

The military can kiss my ass. If someone wants to join the military, they will. But when I say 'no', I mean 'no'. Don't call me and show up at my door and send me letters upon letters.

Oh, and hey, waitaminute, anyone see a striking resemblance to TELEMARKETERS here? They harass you, they won't take no for an answer, and you dread having to associate with them. Huh.

If you do not want to enlist, don't. If you do not want them to contact you, tell them. I finally had to tell them I have a heart condition that keeps me out of military service, they stopped calling.

Woah.

Maybe if the kid died they'd take them off the list?

The U.S. military is perhaps thinking of setting up the zombie corps?

Oh, I'm sure...

...if they could do it, they would. Think of it. An army that never dies. In the hands of American generals.

Just makes you wanna shoot yourself.
