No more rhyme

1. This week's topic at [livejournal.com profile] b7friday is 'memory and reprogramming', which is rather perfect. So I wrote some Blake character-study stuff.

2. [livejournal.com profile] 13th_tribe has a challenge to write a crossover of BSG with either a) another canon with robots. or b) a post-apocalyptic canon. I'm torn by the thought of whether Cybermen count as robots or not (I suppose the Movellans do, now I think on't). I know Daleks don't. Machines, yes, bio-mechanical pepper-pots, yes. Pure robots, no (despite Destiny of the Daleks). Then again, there are clockwork robots and people inside robotic humanoids and robots in one form or another (Dalek vs. Sandminer? Sandminer wins. Though I think Taren Capel might take exception to Daleks on his patch. And Cylons--but I'm digressing). So, Doctor Who would be an all right fit for a.

Blake's 7 had a robot, and discussion of robotics on more than one occasion. (Orac vs Cavil. Orac wins by sheer sarcasm)

Star Treks all had robot-type things. Androids, too. Star Wars certainly has robots. (neither is all that appealing, though)

Red Dwarf? Well, there was one robot. Farscape? No robots, lots of aliens. Eureka has robots. Primeval, Stargates, Torchwood and Haven do not (Primeval does have that post-apocalyptic future thing--but that would mean messing with whatsisface whom I give no frells about--though I suppose Helen Cutter might work).

Resident Evil or Aeon Flux for b (movies, not video games or animated series). idk, I could even do X-Men's Days of Future Past crossed over with BSG (now there's a wonderful welcome from Earth. All Colonial people are automatically considered 'mutants' and get shoved into camps)

Or, or, Age of Apocalypse/BSG. That would require re-reading AoA, though. Not so simple.

3. [livejournal.com profile] smallfandomfest sounds interesting and amazing. Sadly, out of 3297 prompts, only 20 aren't fandoms I don't care about or boyslash. Mostly, it's allll boyslash (like, the Eureka section has something like 20 prompts, five of which are not Jack/Nathan). Aliens/Riddick--sounds like it should be Ripley and Riddick teaming up to shoot and kick alien ass, right? Nope. Hicks is the one who is most important from those movies, apparently.

4. However, these prompts are still amazing. It's just a pity the response has been, like, ridiculously small (12 fills--if this were a dude-centric or boyslash fest? I'm pretty sure we'd have pages of fills now).

For the record, I haven't filled any, but my fic output is pretty much nil these days, so it's unsurprising. (however, I now have 600 words of Kitty/Rogue spin the bottle fic, and I don't know where to go with it. hrm)

2. This seems like it was made for a Terminator crossover so it's nice to see you thought about everything else. And Farscape has bioloids e.g. Sikozu and their are just like human cylons only more synthetic and robot-like so there's that.

hrm. There are 12 Bioloid models, too. (I think it's 12. I have notes somewhere about how bioloids are cylons)

Hicks? Boys, boys, and more boys

Hmm. I don't know what-all they've got in Warehouse 13, literally, since I've only seen about a dozen episodes. They could have robots; they could have the Mask of Apollo from the eponymous Renault novel. I do know I'm yearning for some Myka/H.G. Wells femslash. It must be out there -- the show ships it so hard -- but I don't remember seeing recs.

So now I'm happily boggling over the possibilities for OTfempolygons in a BSG/W13 crossover, should someone choose to write one.

I don't have any recs, sorry. The few I've read in the w13 femslash fandom never really 'gelled' with me. I'm probably too exacting. But there's [livejournal.com profile] meetatgunpoint and [livejournal.com profile] w13_femslash ?
