Also, Missing episode 2

I am pretty certain that this show was made with my id in mind. Slightly older woman ex-spy who runs around beating people up and being intelligent and healing magically chased by government agents, some of whom are conflicted?

ohgodyespls.

(FINESSE, INDEED. Oh, Becca)

also. Excuse me while I write ALL the Becca/Sylvie SPY FEMSLASH EVER.

THIS SHOW ♥

I don't even care that the dialogue is clunky and some of the acting isn't the best because LADY SPIES!!! WHO ARE AWESOME!!! AND WHO MAKE EYE-SEX WITH ONE ANOTHER!!!

Becca/Sylvie ♥ And I also ship Becca/Laura Donnelly's character who she fought on the train in the pilot and Becca/Gina McKee's boss-lady. Though I wish Laura + Gina got to keep their lovely accents. Especially Laura :(

lol, basically spy!Ashley Judd/all the other female spies EVER :)

HAH. Ikr. Objectively, I am like "I don't think this show is very good." but it doesn't matter, because it is total Lyssie Kryptonite. (older women! beating people up! spies! deep secrets! us-against-the-world! emotional women are NOT considered weak)

But then, a very large amount of the shows people like are complete crap, so I feel as though I'm now fitting in or something.

Donnelly's character is supposedly called Violet, and I think the other is Oksana. IMDB is more informative than ABC's site (which is terribly sad).

There isn't even an LJ for Missing.

YES! One thing I love is that Becca's love for her son actually seems to make her...idk..more fierce? I love that her motherly concern for him isn't played as a weakness, but actually seems to be used as a strength, something that's made her more dangerous because no one knows how far she'll go to get her kid back.

Yeah, it doesn't seem to be very popular, sadly. Which seems a bit odd given that Ashley Judd is the star and I had the impression she brought in a decent amount of money at the box-office...but maybe I'm wrong or she just doesn't translate to TV or something :)

Well, the show has a female lead. A female action lead. That's pretty much a guarantee that no one will watch or advertise for it. There are no slashable dudes in bromance relationships.

On top of that, the lead is an 'older' woman (Judd's 44!), and a mother.

What fandom will forgive in shows filled with hot slashable dudes they'll detest in a show with a female lead. Hence the lack of interest.
