ABC's 'Missing'

IMDB is streaming the pilot episode live. It is... It is Ashley Judd running about playing by Moscow rules (oh, Lyssie krpytonite) and beating people up while she looks for her kid. It is probably awful, and there's too many dudes in it.

But, oh, was that satisfying.

You watched the Missing with Caterina Scorsone, right?

Yup. I even bought the only dvds that are available (season two).

I watched it on Netflix and loved it.

I'm assuming the ABC show is not in any way related? Just the same title?

That's where I saw it, too. (and enjoyed it immensely--that was the show I marathonned in a week)

Sadly, now. Or maybe not sadly.

Setup is: woman's husband is killed in a car bombing, and ten years later their son is kidnapped so she goes off to Italy to find him. Only, shocker, Mama is an ex-CIA spook who's probably black ops as her file is all of one page. So was her husband (kid's dad).

I honestly don't think it's the sort of thing that can sustain more than a season (her kid's being held hostage--that wouldn't sit well for anyone, I don't think, for more than that long) with the base premise.

And it's probably not actually good? I mostly was like "SPIES. <3" at it. As I have soft spots for spies.
