in dreams

I dreamt about Dragon*Con this morning. Well, actually, I dreamt I was there, with a lot of you.

We were at a panel in the Marriott, but it was ending--I don't know which. Anyway, we were talking about what to do next (this being DC, and it being noon, lunch wasn't even something we were considering), and someone else said some friends had suggested this panel in the Peachtree.

Now, dream!DC's Peachtree took the place of the Hilton, and was supposedly across the street from the Marriott (I suspect part of this is from the years I went to DC in the 90's, where parts were in, like, the merchandise mart)

One of our number needed to run back to her room, so we said we'd meet her there.

Then we decided we were too lazy to walk across the street, so we were going to take the skyway bridge (I think it was more we were too hot already, and didn't want to face Atlanta's heat).

So we took the elevator up to that level. Incidentally, dream!Marriott does not have an Atrium.

On getting to the right level, the group of us and our new friends from the elevator (we're all giggly/bubbly/friendly at DC) went to the left and discovered that the Peachtree was no longer across the street. There was now a monorail that took us there.

O.o

Idek.

So, we took the monorail through the city, ooh-ing and aah-ing at the sights as we went.

My dream!Atlanta is a strange composite city made up of Chicago, Atlanta, Toronto, St. Louis and LA--in point of fact, it resembles none of them and all of them at the same time. If I ever arrive in the composite city in real life, I'll be O.o and deja vu-ey all the time.

Which made the view from the monorail very different to what it should have been.

Anyway. We arrived at the Peachtree and found the lobby, and even found the area with the panel listings. But the panels didn't resemble anything in the program book, and we weren't sure if the missing person would be able to find us, so we sort of hung around there, texting her to let her know about the bizarre monorail thing.

Then the alarm went off.

That's actually a surprisingly normal dream for you isn't it? :P

Sometimes. It was especially vivid last night. I think it's the heat.

Sounds about right, actually.

I totally want public transport to take me on a tour in my dreams.
