sff: Cover Affairs, Eureka. Catching up and a half-season premiere
Covert Affairs: FEMALE TEAMMATES LOST IN THE WILDERNESS. Why did no one TELL ME that was what the most recent episode was? OMG HOLY CATNIP, BATMAN.
Eureka: OH HAI. It's nice to having something skiency to watch.
So, on the whole, I really really liked 2x4 and 2x6. I LOVE lost in the wilderness, the whole world against you bonding experiences. Especially when they're two women. It's a pity that it looks likeSif Reva isn't going to be back (thank you, show, for not killing her!)
Annie and Reva working together (and complaining!) was awesome. I love that Reva admits she has short-comings. And I love that Annie still adores her (ok, the latter may not be true, but).
Aw, at Annie's sis. <3
2x3 was fairly meh, even if it was hilarious for Tim Guinee as a 'bad guy'.
2x5 was all right.
Auggie's little plot was... well, I would have liked to see them juggle more, with him in another job, but I can see why they only flirted with it.
CAN WE TALK ABOUT HOW HOT JAI IS. Because, srsly. That speechy bit in 2x6, right before they get into the helicopter, and then the shouting and then the riding in the helicopter and then the motorbikes bit? yespls.can I have one Unf. I also really loved the little bits with him and Joan -- how she TOTALLY KNOWS that he is trying to defect, and how she TOTALLY also knows that she can send him on a black ops mission for their girl.
And the bit where Joan doesn't trust him, but also sort of tries to distance him from the imploding Arthur Thing (at least, that was my reading of it).
Speaking of Joan. Joan and Arthur's ex, Geena are prickly around each other less because of Arthur and more because they're ex-lovers. Srsly. The hate sex would be incredible.
Joan is also pretty badass. (I love that she lies TO EVERYONE to get Annie and Reva back. I just. SRSLY, THAT IS SO AWESOME)
You know why it's awesome? Because it's a female head of a department putting her ass on the line to save/bring back two female operatives. Moving heaven and fucking Earth, even. And there's no "poor little girls can't save themselves" bullshit, because of COURSE they do, and they only need a rescue because of twisted ankles (lol, ok, that bit was lolarious, for serious)
<3
So, to recap:
Annie/Reva we're safe! recovery and/or angsty au fic.
Joan/Geena hate!sex, or, y'know, that time when they were still young members of the CIA/state department, and had sex in the women's restroom. A lot.
Now, I will attempt to put some space, so there are no inadvertent spoilers for Eureka, or whatever.
Do people even care? Idk.
EUREKA BELOW... which sounds like a bad porno.
So, anyway. Eureka is back, yay.
I didn't think very highly of the plot, but the character stuff was pretty fun.
1. Allison and Jack having conflict in the workplace. I was hoping they'd bring it up, and they did, and I know Jack was right, BUT. I still wanted to smack him. Also, I hope he's wrong, next time.
2. JOooooooooooooo and her aaaaaaangst. Not enough of it, but OH MY HEART when he called her Jo-jo (FARGO, YOU RAT) AND SHE RAPPELLED DOWN A THOUSAND FOOT OR WHATEVER SHAFT. ahahah. And horses. She is so badass, the show should use her more.
3. Zane being a scaredy-cat was hilarious, and makes sense. This isn't the same man we knew, he's not brave.
4. Fargo was... the only person not in some sort of relationship, and whose plotline doesn't revolve around romance. Interesting.
5. SARAH WANTED TO GET MARRIED. That was so fucking adorable. Also,Lorne Andy is still a hottie.
Hrm. I should sleep.
