Sometimes, I wonder if I'm supposed to root for the murderer.
Take Sins of Commission, the episode of Midsomer Murders I just watched.
Erm, I suppose there are spoilers (does anyone actually care if they're spoiled for Midsomer Murders? Isn't that like being told "Rosebud is the sled"? Oh, well. I suppose I shall err on the side of caution or something.
The people who died in the episode were all attempting to kill the murderer--the trouble is, she's Polish, and an ex-war hero who is still surprisingly spry for her age.
She is also played by Susan Engel, last seen by me as Vivien Fay in Stones of Blood.
Seriously, though, when the murderess is basically like "I didn't intend to kill them, but they kept trying to clumsily kill me." I can't help but be all proud of how awesome she is for accidentally killing people in self defense.
In other news, old lady ex-spies are still the awesomest thing ever.
(BBC, if you ran a series with Susan Engel and Maggie Stables as crime-fighters and/or spies, I'd be all over that. Get on that, pls.)
