More randomy thoughts on Doctor Who 6x01, The Impossible Astronaut

Can we talk about something that really turns me on? Bullet continuity. River fires one at the Doctor's hat and then five at the spaceman before clicking on empty. I assume she was using a six-shooter, of course. It's possible it was an entirely different type of gun, in which case, not so hot. BUT STILL. Kinda hot.

Also, I love the staging through the episode--the diner, especially. And the way they all range around the console and-and--IT WAS SO PRETTY, OK.

Listening to the episode at work is problematic, because River and Eleventy flirting is sort of unf-inducing, and I have now committed the sin of writing TARDIS console porn while supposedly working, so I'm not sure how I feel about that. Other than (wow, that's hot, er, River/Eleven, that is. I DON'T KNOW WHY)

Hrm. I should start dinner. (what? I didn't say they were in any way intellectual)

I counted the bullets too!

It was too hard to pay attention with the visuals. But with just the audio, it was easy-peasy.

I noticed the bullet thing when viewing. And yeah, pretty sure we get a good look at it to see it's a six-shooter. Not that I would've thought River picked any other type of shooter. ;)

River is being archeologisty. Or something. Is that even a word? I don't have a clue =D

I caught the bullet thing on my first viewing. Have I really watched so much television with guns that this is now hard wired into my brain to always count? It didn't even occur to me that counting wasn't necessarily second-nature to all television viewers until later -- probably around the time of the "they're American" comment in the Oval Office. Ouch.

I would have caught it, but we were all talking over it and being generally giggly. And watching it on my laptop, I'm more focused on other things and still miss it.

Or, well, probably would have.

River/11? Interesting. But then River will make any pairing awesome.

I loved the diner. The episode lost my attention when they went to FL.

She really does. I just... they were flirting back and forth, and I don't know how to deal with the Doctor overtly flirting. Maybe he just isn't sure if he is. *hands*

...Yeah, I was mostly just focusing on River in the denim. I am shallow, and I don't care who knows it.

It is possible that's why I wasn't able to count. All those other times we will not discuss how often I've watched it ahem.

I am totally shallow. This is v true. (exhibit a: Sam Anders)

Being a drama brat, I'm always subconsciously looking at blocking. I never really THINK about it, but I always end up pleased when shows really use their space, and don't have people clumped together, or lined up. This show really knows how to move people around and use the whole area they have to play with.
