Ah, so that means that Jack was a useless idiot pining over Sam all those years, yearning for her, even though he couldn't do anything because of chain of command issues. And then he became a useless man-whore because he slept with another woman, breaking the purity of his love for Sam, whom he should have been pure for Forever! and waited until one of them retired for good. I love it how silly the, ahem, "logic" of fandom sounds when you take what they say about female characters and apply it to the male characters. There have been times when I've wanted to wade into the fray when crap like this pops up and call out such junk, but then my fannish blood pressure goes up and I think, Is The Wank Worth It? Usually it's not. It's always so much nicer to just to be snarky on the flist when stupid stuff gets said.
